BUT I don’t speak polish. So …

It all started with an old idea of mine: “It would be nice to have at least one of each medals.”
As a lot of other players, I think of this as a (very) long term goal.

I had a 9 types of medals. I was missing the Top Fighter, President, and Congress Medals only.

Top Fighter? Yeah right. Later. (a lot) later.
President? As a hungarian guy in Poland? Yeah right. 😃

Congress Medal? I had no idea how this works.
I am a zero in Politics, and a zero in ePolitics. And that is not going to change soon.
I started to look around. I moved in Top 5 parties every month, candidating is easy. But then comes the Party President and switches you to someone who he trusts. And they do just that. I think I did this 4-5-6? times 🙂 This was like fishing for the great white shark in my aquarium at home. I was sure i had no chance.

From the beginning, I had known for sure, that, even if I get in, I would never use any of the power a congressman has rights to. I find this very important to mention here. I only wanted to make the medal’s color yellow from grey. That is it. Maybe even taking a few screenshots for an article of the Congress Administration screen(s) ? because I had no idea how they look like, and how they work. Thought I would share, so people who never saw all that, could get an idea.

I don’t know what happened this weekend.
I got in.
Didn’t know why, didn’t know how. As a matter of fact I didn’t know a lot of other things either.

When I realised that I can start “campaigning” I wrote a message, that I would reward people who votes for me. But I actually promised a bit more that I should have. I had no idea that there are “laws” for this. I had somebody warn me (more info here: http://pokazywarka.pl/oecd7h/ - it is polish, but google translate does a pretty good job translating this) so after I got warned, I stopped offering.
I sent out a good amount of messages.

Later on, I got a PM saying “I heard that you are running for congress, was this all set up, talked, everybody is cool about it? There were other (hungarian) people also trying something like this, and it wasn’t pretty”. Well, I didn’t know about that either.

I got in touch with somebody important, who actually said that outsiders are actually forbidden to run for congress, and that I should immediately stop what I am doing.

I started to have my concerns.
Others would’ve had concerns probably, when reading stuff like this in PM-s:
“international conflict”
“penalties”
“enormous violation”
“If you want to keep polish CS ...”
“10000 CC penalty”
“ban for egov”
“...forget about congress ...”

Things were kindof out of my hand.

Saturday, I was out pretty much all day (IRL stuff) without being able to check on what is going on. I was thinking a lot though. What will happen?
In the evening, when I had an hour, I saw that I have something like 42 votes, and the second guy on the list has 3 or 4.

I sent out a few messages thanking people or apologizing people. But it was obvious that the gap is too big. I am going to win it. By that time, I decided that I will step down if I win. (if there is a resign button, like i said, i had no idea …)

The final numbers 52 for me, 5 for the runner-up.

Sunday I waited for the “counting votes” stuff, and then, when I got the message, I resigned.
I was a congressman for 33 minutes.
Hmmm … I didn’t even take those screenshots after all.

Again:
I never meant to do anything bad. I know that a congressman can do a lot of things that, in a country like Poland, should not be abused of.
I didn’t want to abuse, but people with concerns about me, didn’t know me like friends from my Polish MU.
Not knowing about rules is not good enough defense. I know that too.
I did not want to do anything bad to my “reputation”. I mean if this was in a country that is not an ally, I didn’t care. But this is Poland, and I have a lot of friends here.

So.
Sorry again. Everybody. I hope someone else can learn from my example.

Something else:
Looking back on all this, I find it not hard enough for an outsider to get in congress. And it turned out that I could’ve win with 6 votes !!!! People should be more careful. If it was somebody else, somebody non-friendly …

Az egesz ugy kezdodott, hogy “milyen jo lenne ha lenne mindegyik medalbol egy”
Sok mas jatekos van valoszinuleg aki ugyanigy van ezzel, de ez egy nagyon hosszutavu cel.
12-bol 9 megvolt, hianyzott a TF, Elnoki, es a Konga.

Konga? Foggalmam nem volt hogyan mukodik a rendszer. Csak azt hogy itt Lengyelorszagban ez valszeg meg nehezebb mint “otthon”. Elkezdtem probalkozni. Top 5 partokban jottem mentem minden honapban, (vagy 4-5-6? honapja mar) Jeloltetni magad nem nagy kunszt, de aztan jon a partelnok, es lecserel teged valakire akiben megbizik. Ez a dolga. Es jol csinaljak. Meg voltam gyozodve hogy semmi eselyem

Az elejetol fogva biztos voltam benne, hogy ha egyaltalan be is jutnek, nem elnek vissza semmifele joggal amit ez a medal biztosit. Ezt nagyon fontosnal találom megjegyezni. Csak az erdekelt, hogy a konga medalom legyen sarga.
Politika, ePolitika, nekem 8. nem erdekel.
Maximum gondoltam csinalok majd egy-ket screenshotot a konga admin modulban, hogy masok is lathassak hogy nez az ki.

Bejuttam.
Nem tudom mi lett. Tulajdonkeppen sok mindent nem tudtam.

Mikor rajottem hogy elkezdhetek kampanyolni, gondolkodas nelkul megtettem. Hiba volt. Valaki szolt hogy picivel tobbet ajanlottam egy szavazatert, mint ami “legalis” Lengyelorszagban. Ez mashol hogy van ? Csak mert lattam kampanyolni ellatmannyal masokat … (tobb info itt:: http://pokazywarka.pl/oecd7h/ - lengyelul, de a Google translate eleg jol leforditja)
Miutan ezt megtudtam, lealltam az ilyen tipusu kapmanyolassal.

Aztan kaptam egy uzenetet: “Hallom indulsz kongán lengyeleknél. erre kaptál engedélyt? Megbeszélted ezt polákokkal? Volt ebből már bonyodalom.”
Nos errol nem (sem) tudtam.

Felvettem a kapcsolatot egy Lengyel “fontos” emberrel is, és több helyröl kaptam olyan PM-eket, amiktol kezdtem nem jol erezni magam

Picit kicsuszott minden a kezembol.

Szombaton IRL dolgok, nagyjabol egesz nap offline voltam. Eleg sokat gondolkoztam azon hogy vajon mi lesz.
Este neztem es 42 szavazatom volt a masodiknak 3 vagy 4.

Elkuldtem par koszono es bocsanatkero uzenetet. Es eldontottem hogy ha nyerek is, le fogok lepni. Mar ha le lehet lenpi. Fogalmam nem volt, hogy vissza lehet-e lepni egyaltalan.

A vegso szamok: 52 nekem, 5 a masodik helyezettnek.
Meg egyszer nagyon koszonom a szavazatokat !

Vasarnap a szavazatszamlalasok utan meglett a medal. Raakadtam a Resign gombra, es ennyi.
Hmmm … Meg a screenshotokat is elfelejtettem megcsinalni a cikkhez.
33 percig voltam konga.

Osszefoglalva:
Nem akartam semmi rosszat, semmi hatterszandek nem volt. Tisztaban vagyok vele hogy egy konga tag sok olyan dologhoz hozzaferhet, amivel vissza lehetne élni.
Az hogy nem akartam semmi rosszat, az ilyenkor nem vilagos, mert nem ismernek.
Az hogy nem tudsz a szabalyokrol az meg nem ved meg teged ha vetesz ellenuk.
Nem szerettem volna rossz hiremet kelteni. Ha ez egy masik orszagban tortent volna, akkor nem zavart volna, de itt Lengyelorszagban sok a barát, es sok segitseget kaptam. Ezt semmikeppen nem akartam kockaztatni.

Visszanezve, utolag, ugy tunik nem eleg nehez ezt osszehozni. Ha nekem sikerult … 6 szavazat is eleg lett volna ! Ha valaki “baratsagtalanabb” csinalt volna ilyent …
