[UPDATE] Should EDEN Fall...

Day 1,947, 09:34 Published in USA Canada by New Faustian Man

These (mainly according to rumour) are the likely destinations of each of the EDEN powerhouses in the event the alliance disbands.

China/eRoC - The automatic choice appears Circle of Trust, as the Pacific theatre is almost completely CoT or CoT-aligned, CoT membership would give China and Taiwan great regional security, and mean the only genuine threat would be an attack over land either through Russia or Asia Minor by TWO forces. Thailand is TWO but is obviously vastly underpowered to trouble anyone in Asia.

Verdict: Circle of Trust

Colombia - With the emergence of CUA (Colombia-Uruguay-Argentina), Colombia have already committed themselves to a regional alliance, but in a post-EDEN world where TWO are pitted against CoT, its difficult to see what kind of a future CUA would have, especially against Brazil-Chile backed by one of the major alliances. There have been rumours that Argentina have already inquired into TWO membership, so where this would leave Colombia is anyone’s guess. Considering they’re currently under sustained attack by a CoT country, Mexico, following Argentina (if those rumors are correct) into TWO seems more likely.

Verdict: TWO

Croatia - The Croatian CP proposal to leave EDEN looks like its going to fail. There’s been talk it was only a shot across the bows of fellow EDEN members regarding their failure to support Croatia when they’re overkilling in their own battles, but I don’t really know how accurate that is tbh. At a guess I’d say Croatia would favour CoT membership over TWO, for obvious reasons.

Verdict: Circle of Trust

Greece/Romania/Turkey - There are rumours Turkey have been negotiating with TWO (via the Poles) for around 3 months, and the Greeks and Romanians with TWO HQ for about 2 weeks. If these three do opt for TWO, Argentina won’t be far behind considering their ties with Turkey. For me the biggest surprise in any of this is the suggestion Romania are headed for TWO, a move that would sunder the Croatian-Romania bond, something that’s been around since the early days of EDEN.

Verdict: TWO

First EDEN logo ever (unless I'm not mistaken)

These would be the line-ups if everything above panned out as rumour predicts:

Circle of Trust: ____________________TWO/ACT:
1. USA________________________________1. Hungary
2. Mexico_____________________________2. Spain
3. Belgium____________________________3. Venezuela
4. Bulgaria____________________________4. UK
5. Japan_______________________________5. Poland
6. South Korea________________________6. Slovakia
7. Indonesia__________________________7. Thailand
8. Rep. Moldova_______________________8. Slovenia
9. Chile_________________________________9. Serbia
10. Lithuania__________________________10. Estonia
11. Paraguay___________________________11. Latvia
12. Peru________________________________12. Montenegro
13. Rep.Macedonia___________________13. Turkey
14. New Zealand_____________________14. Argentina(?)
15. China______________________________15. Greece
16. eRoC_______________________________16. Romania(!)
17. Croatia
18. Brazil(?)
19. Germany(?)
20. France(?)
21. Russia(?)

As you can see above, Circle of Trust would be massively overpowered by TWO/ACT, I’m not sure the exact breakdown in terms of numbers but I’m pretty confident it would be greater even than the advantage ONE had over TEDEN.

Thoughts?

*UPDATE* According to the latest leak, Turkey is the only current EDEN member that seem likely to join TWO. Greece-Romania now appear to be on course for CoT. This is liable to change ofcourse. [ Source: Rumour ]

Mmmm, this picture's definitely not as bad as the first.

Serbia-Hungary-Poland-Turkey-Spain-Argentina-Slovenia versus USA-Bulgaria-F.Y.Macedonia-Brazil-Greece-Romania-Croatia-China-Indonesia would be interesting indeed, and pretty well balanced too.
