12 months of Legion Service, 9 months of Government Service - Time for a break

Day 1,965, 11:52 Published in Poland United Kingdom by Carlini8

Hello all,

It has been some time since I have addressed you all in an article like this. Sadly it will be the last time for a while. I shall be taking a sabbatical from Command of The Legion.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as Commander for 10 months and before that 2 months as captain for The Legion. That is a whole year of service for The Legion. Along with 6 months as MoF and 9 straight months involved in the government it all sadly has to come to an end.

In May I will be getting married which is followed by a lengthy honeymoon. Sadly for you guys I will not be ruining my honeymoon so I can make sure you all have supplies, the battle priorities are correct and that everything is running smoothly! I will be around for a month under the new leadership just to make sure everything is running well.

When I originally took over The Legion we had under 100 members and were considered one of the players of the eUK damage, but just that, a player. With hard work from a dedicated backroom staff and excellent members we have risen to THE power of the eUK. I would like to thank everyone who puts in the behind the scenes efforts to make it all possible. Roughly 170 people get supplied - That is no small feat! I am very proud of what has been done here.

Do not worry, I am not stepping away fully. As long as The Legion sticks to its ideals of non political, encouraging activity and trying to get everyone as involved as possible while obviously dealing massive amounts of damage I will still be a supplier (and hopefully still using about 2100 energy daily!)

I will be leaving you all in the very capable hands of one soon to be Commander Rodney McKay. The Legion currently does a great job of defending the eUK, we can see that from the current campaign, we are consistently doing roughly 40% of the eUKs damage which is phenomenal! Hopefully under Rodney you can all continue to push this forward.

I have had so many plans which I would have loved to implement. Sadly I just never had the time to do them all while I was Commander too. Maybe when I return from my honeymoon if everything is running smoothly I will be able to run some side projects to see if I can engage us all that little bit more such as the Regimental Games and the Legion archive.

Rodney has been a key member of our back room staff since long before I played this game. His dedication is unquestionable and his ability to lead is unrivaled. Please join me in congratulating him on his new responsibility (What a Wayne Kerr!)

This is the part where I try to get you all to help out. Currently the only real thanks you seem to get for helping out is within the Legion team itself. As someone who is doing a part to keep The Legion running you know how hard it is to juggle this responsibility as well as your everyday eRepublik responsibilities. We all know our time on this game is limited, we all have other things to do such as Jobs, hobbies and loved ones to spend time with. The key is to maximising your potential while online.

During my time away please change the stigma. Remember that anyone doing something behind the scenes is generally not doing it for any thanks. They are doing it to help out The Legion and as a result the eUK. If they have not given you your supplies that day, if your captain hasn’t changed the orders or if a strike wasn’t advertised instead of complaining about that person who is doing something for free trying to help out, why not get involved yourself?

The job would be much easier if it was spread over more people. Right now we only have a handful of people who really put the effort and by Joe are they worth their weight in gold.

I wish you all the best. Please continue the great path The Legion has set on while I am away. I can’t wait to be back and be spamming you all once again.

Fight hard for the eUK and her allies, make sure you do the best you can.
