What Treachery is This? Latvia Attacks Moscow.
In a shocking (if not humiliating) turn of events, Latvia has declared war on Russia. With Latvian soldiers all pumped up by the flood of nationalist articles entering their media, the small Baltic nation made their first strike on Russia. However, things didn't go to plan for Latvia, as the nation's military was crushed during the fight for Moscow.
Russia's DOD wasted no time with the counter attack, issuing attack orders on the Latvian territory of Latgale after Moscow was defended.
As to why this small Baltic nation thought they could take on the semi-super power of Russia, we may never know. One thing is certain though- this will be a hard war for Latvia.
A hard war indeed.


American Forces Capture Quebec-Lose New SEAL-land.
American soldiers have successfully laid siege to the Canadian capital today, after capturing everyone's favorite "We want independence" province- Quebec.
This has given America both a Deer and Iron bonus, and yet another victory against it's northern neighbor.
However, today was not a total victory for the Americans. Shortly after the taking of Quebec, SEAL Team Six announced that they will "Stand Down all hostilities with the Government of Canada".

Portugese Rebels Liberate Lisboa
Portugal's back at it again, with their rebels liberating the territory of Lisboa right after Spain finished their land swap with Venezuela.
For those with a bad memory, this will be Portugal's second revolt against Spanish rule that this paper has reported. Though the first one liberated all of Portugal (Minus Norte), this revolt may not turn out as effective.
Firstly, Spain now has MPP's with Brazil, and America. Second, Spain has 2 more weapons bonuses.

The Portugese revolt in Centro is being defeated, 55-0.
Eh, who knows. Portugal might just pull through, right ?


Chilean Army Attacks Norte Grande, Zona Central-Tight Battles Ensue.
Chile's military has launched 2 attacks against the Argentine Empire today, with Norte Grande and Zona Central being their main targets. The battles are currently 30-25 for Argentina, and 60-59 for Argentina.
If Argentina does lose Zona Central, at least a 40% food bonus will be lost due to the region being a score 9 choke-point region.
Now that Chile has regained their mojo, this war will be interesting to watch.

Revolts everywhere- Argentine Empire Fights off Kiwis, Bolivians, and Peruvians
The Argentine Empire is known around here for it's cycles. You see, Argentina grows, then comes under pressure, then shrinks, then grows.
It seems as if Argentina will be in the "Comes Under Pressure" stage these days, with at least 1 resistance war being under way constantly.
Though most of these wars are damage drains, we will be posting the current battle stats for each conflict...
Southern Low Amazon- 23 to 21 (For Argentine Empire)
Chuquisaca and Tarija- 36 to 52 (For Bolivian Rebels)
Auckland- 20 to 13 (For Argentine Empire)
Er..unless Argentina's pulling a Croatia (The art of giving your enemies a 77-55 lead, and then turning it all around. Better known as trolling) on the rebels, we may see a few territories change hands tonight.


Poland Captures West Midlands, Attacks Brittany.
The "Pink Army" (as Poland shall be referred to from here on in) has successfully captured the French occupied region of West Midlands today, leaving France with only 2 territories in the UK. The Pink Army has managed to lead an un-defeated campaign against the French so far. Though nothing less should be expected of the Pink Menace.
With so many victories in hand, Poland is now attacking the French Region of Brittany. The battle is currently 47-8 in Poland's favor.
In other news, there is rumor going around that Evry is attempting to make a peace deal between France and Poland.


French Safe-Haven to be taken by UK forces.
The French territory of Yorkshire & Humberside may just be lost today, following a UK revolt in the area. The battle is currently being won by England, 69-41.
This territory would provide France with a single territory freed from Poland, due to it being land locked by German territories. And since Poland and Germany have a peace deal, it is unlikely that Poland will try to take that final territory out of French hands VIA NE.
Though France could never be wiped if they hold this territory, there will always be the threat of English revolt in the area. As seen now.


Dutch Forces Capture Vestlandet. Declared the Prettiest War in History
Dutch forces have captured Vestlandet, as part of their training war with Norway. This war is looked at in more close detail in yesterday's edition of the Stairway.

Easily one of the best color combinations I've seen yet.

Fins Repel ABC invasion of Southern Finland
The Fins have repelled an ABC backed attack on their homeland recently, with the close battle for Southern Finland ending in Finland's favor.
With the status qou re-established today, Finland and Estonia will be back at it again by the morning.
However, if Estonia does get wiped again, things will be considerable harder. Firstly, Estonia will no longer have Latvian support due to Latvia's attack on Russia.
In short- Latvia will be busy/wiped.
That being said, the two might just take up their endless cold-war again. Ah, those were the times.


Slovak Forces Head Toward Ukrainian Coast.
Slovakian forces are currently attacking the coastal territory of Bassarabia, winning the battle 48-7.
Strangely enough, the Slovak territory of Podolia should be back in Ukrainian hands by the morning. (The Ukraine looks poised to win the battle.)
So if the Slovaks don't want to make a land bridge for resources, and are heading towards the coast, what does this mean ?
Well, they could be using this as a starting point to either attack Turkey,Moldova, or Romania
Turkey seems most likely out of the 3, mostly since they could've attack Moldova and Romania a few days ago.
However, we're not quite sure as to why they would think they can take on Turkey.

Croatian forces lose North Dalmatia
Serb soldiers have captured North Dalmatia in recent times. This means that Croatia is down to one territory in their homeland, South Dalmatia. (It also means that Serbia has another food bonus)
For those who have been reading my paper for awhile, you will know that this is the second epic battle of South Dalmatia. Y'see, is the Croats lose South Dalmatia, they will have to RW another territory to gain a foothold in their homeland again.
While Croatia's busy doing that, Serbia will happily declare war on another one of the Anti-Serbian nations. (BiH, Greece)
So far Croatia has been acting as everyone's damage shield. If that changes, the whole "Anti-Serbian" war effort will enter a new, terrifying, chapter.

South Dalmatia is quickly becoming E-rep's Stalingrad.

Greeks attack Central Montenegro
Greek Forces have attack Montenegro's last region today, with hopes of wiping the small Balkan nation.
Though this is only a stepping stone for Greece to declare war on Serbia, it is none-the-less interesting. For example, FYROM currently holds one Montenegrin region (for the bonuses). If Montenegro is wiped, this may cause a minor rift between the 2 ONE nations as to whether or not the region is returned. And if it is, Montenegro may team up with Serbia to push to Greek's out of the Balkans. (Since Greece will no longer have the 10% extra damage that the NE provides. Due to the fact that their border with Montenegro was lost.)


Albanian rebels Liberate Albanian Coast
Albanian rebels have liberated the Albanian Coast today, following the nation's wipe by FYROM. FYROM is now declaring war on Albania.


Turks Attack Marmara and Black Sea Coast
The Turkish military has attacked both Black Sea coast, and Marmara. They are winning both battles at 66-0, and 66-55 respectively.
If Marmara is lost, Bulgaria will lose all it's bonuses in Greece- Hence why Bulgarian is putting up more of a fight there.
