Balkans edition

Goodbye ONE, Hello Fellowship ?
Seems that ONE is no more, after various papers (ONE doesn't have an official newspaper) broke the news to the world.
Serbian Paper Proclaiming End of ONE
Hungarian Article
From what I've gathered in the Hungarian article, this new alliance will be called the Fellowship. This alliance will consist of Slovenia, FYROM, Spain, Poland, Hungary, and Serbia.
With "The FellowShip" flexing their muscles in both Croatia and Romania, the young alliance's strength will be well tested in coming days.

Peace in Canada- Our Bitter-Sweet Journey to Bromance.
The situation in Canada is very turbulent at current, with the peace-lovers making one step forward, only to take another backwards. First, Canadian congressmen decided that they didn't want peace, and shot down a peace treaty proposed by Evry.
Though this was manageable (Plus, looks as if a few of 'em were bribed. So Proclaims the Magic Plug.), things started to get bad once the Yukon was "accidentally" taken by American forces.
(With America being such a strong nation compared to Canada, we have taken many Canadian territories by accident. Plus, our war-hawks do hit hard against Canada, despite orders not to)
But with Glove and Jacobi in power, a new peace treaty has been proposed. Canada has now passed their treaty, while our's is being passed 28-17.
After this is done, Canada can re-take the Yukon and Ontario (Yes, we've attacked Ontario. We're winning 69-30, so it looks as if we're poised to take yet another Canadian territory) VIA resistance war.
But till then, I still have to report on the 2nd most awkward looking war in this paper's history.

Colombian War Scare
Colombia has almost declared war on Spain in recent days, with the declaration currently being voted down 20-9. (It was much closer then that when I originally made this headline. 13-9, I believe)
This failed NE comes after months of tension between the 2 nations, after Spain entered South America VIA Venezuela. With Venezuela and Spain being close allies, and this coming in wake of a war between Colombia and Venezuela, some Colombians thought Spain was coming in to wipe them.
I explain the situation much better in this editon, sub heading 3.
"Venezuela signs treaty with Spain."

Argentine Empire- It's all Good.
The Argentine Empire has been doing pretty good lately, with every revolt taking place being put down easily.

Irish-English Land Swap.
Ireland and England are back at their old land-swap, where Ireland keeps Scotland and N.Ireland, and the UK keeps Dublin and Louth. Not much to say, as you can see.

Portugal Loses Azores, Madeira, Centro, Defends Capital?
Portugese forces have lost 3 of their countries' home territories recently, following a failed invasion of the Spanish homeland.
Portugal's soldiers are currently attempting to capture Centro, while defending Lisboa. Though Portugal is looking poised to win the battle for Lisboa (63-36. Strange numbers, eh?), the battle for Centro is being lost 27-17.
To be honest, it's a bit strange that Portugal is putting up such a fight against Spain.
This is due to the fact that Portugal is vastly out-classed by Spain in terms of damage, and Portugal usually captures most of these territories because Spain is busy elsewhere.
None the less, Portugal is becoming quite the adversary for Spain.
Whether that's thanks to EDEN or not, the war in Portugal is far from over.

French Soldiers Push Slovenia out of France.
France has claimed another victory over Slovenia recently, with French commandos capturing 3 French mainland territories (Plus 1 occupied Italian territory). France now has a 60% food bonus, compared to the 0% food bonus they suffered after being wiped by the Pink Army.
That being said, France's war with Slovenia isn't over yet, with Slovenia still holding the Italian island of Sardinia. This island is currently under attack by French forces, with France losing the battle 12-11.

Croatia- Country Loses 89% of Territory in 2 Days.
Croatian forces have been decimated in recent days, losing 8 of their 9 territories over the course of 48 hours. However, this is no real surprise to anyone, with Croatia set off to be screwed right from the start. As mentioned earlier, Croatia was facing a 5 front war against the Fellowship, the new ONE.
With Poland, Slovenia, and FYROM all coming down on Croatia's adopted homeland in Europe's mountains, their chances of success really didn't look good.
That being said, Croatia has now successfully blocked off both Poland and FYROM, VIA a planned retreat from Styria. (P.S- FYROM was already blocked off by Poland anyways. So Styria had nothing to do with that.)
Now Croatia is down to one enemy (Could've made a ONE pun there), Slovenia.
Though the fight to defend Croatia's adopted capital of Burgenland will be hard, it sure will be a lot easier now that Croatia only has 1 enemy to fight.
Er...assuming that Poland doesn't plow through Austria to get to Croatia...

Before

After

Bulgarian Forces Pushed out of Turkey, Attacked in Plovdiv.
Bulgarian forces have been pushed out of the Turkish Homeland as of late, following a successful Turkish victory in South Eastern Anatolia. Turkey is now attacking the Bulgarian territory of Plovdiv, winning the battle 33-22.
If successful, Turkey will get a 20% weapons bonus.
In related news, Ukrainian rebels are facing off against the Turkish army today in Taurida. Taurida was originally captured by Bulgaria, but was taken by Turkey after Bulgaria was down to 1 Turkish territory.
The battle is being won 29-26 for Turkey.
P.S- I can't see any huge strategic value for this territory right now, but it might be useful later on.

Serbia Captures Oltenia, Muntenia.
Serbia has declared war on Romania in recent days, with Serbian forces successfully capturing 2 Romanian territories. These southern territories, Oltenia and Muntenia, have granted Serbia a 20% weapons bonus.
Over all, this war could have 1 of 2 aims.
1. Wipe Romania. Hungary takes the North, Serbia the south.
2. Capture Dobrogea to gain a border with Turkey. Then declare war on Turkey to aid Bulgaria, and pick up a few bonuses along the way.
Either way, things will certainly be interesting for Romania over the next few days.

Bulgaria, Moldova Beaten out of Ukraine
Bulgaria and Moldova have been beaten out of the Ukraine recently. This comes after a 1 day wipe at the hands of Russia-Moldova-Bulgarian forces, who invaded the nation in retaliation for the Ukraine's failed attack on Moscow.
Though Russia is still holding Northern Ukraine easily (And enjoying the food bonus it provides) both the Ukraine and Russia seem very happy to not declare war on eachother.
The Ukraine, however, has no problem declaring war on Moldova. Yep, the 2 are back at their long-standing war, with Ukrainian forces successfully capturing Northern Bassarabia. This has given the Ukraine a food bonus, and a emotional victory over their Moldovian counterparts.

Latvia Declares War on Finland
Latvia has declared war on Finland recently, following Finland's capture of Laane-Eesti. Latvia will most likely go to war to defend it's Estonian allies, who have been succumbing to a Finnish invasion lately.
This comes after a planned retreat from Laane-Eesti went horribly wrong for Finland, and resulted in Finnish forces almost losing their last territory in Estonia, Pohja-Eesti.

Finland Captures Kirde-Eesti.
Finland has captured the Estonian territory of Kirde-Eesti recently, giving the Balkan nation a 20% food bonus.
Finland is currently fighting battles against Estonia in Laane-Eesti, and Keski-Eesti. Finland is losing Laane-Eesti 57-42, and winning Keski-Eesti 75-7.

Arab Rebels Attack Sinai
Arabian rebels have attacked Sinai today, and are being beaten 69-19. This comes after a tight battle for Al-Riyadh yesterday, in which Arab rebels were yet again.
Seems like the 4th Arabian revolt will have to wait.

North Indo Empire Rebellions Liberate Mindanao and Sarawak
Anti-Indo rebels have liberated the territories of Mindanao, Sarawak, and Sabah recently, following Brazil's NE of Indo a few days ago.
The revolts in the north of Indo have cost the Indonesian economy 1 food bonus, and 1 weapons bonus.
Malaysian rebels are now attacking Peninsular Malaysia, winning the battle 38-4.

Brazil Captures Northern Territory, Attacks Lesser Sunda Islands
Brazil has captured Northern Territory in recent days, following their successful assault on Indonesian held Queensland.
Brazilian forces are now attacking the Lesser Sunda Islands, winning the battle 24-9

And that's a rap!
But before we go, I'd like to say a few things. First thing's second, I'd like to congratulate both Civil and Glove for an astounding Presidential run. While we're on the topic, I'd like to note that we may start opening up to endorsements for politicians. That being said, any endorsement we give will in no way influence our writing. I've seen many a good paper get dragged into the mud-slinging fest as of late due to their endorsements, so we'll keep our's where they belong- at the bottom of the paper.
Firstly (or secondly), I'd just like to say thanks to you guys. On our last article, we got 60-something votes ^.^. Your support is awesome guys, and quite unique, if I do say so myself. I mean, I've yet to see another American paper with such loyal subs. Whether it's comments, or PM's reminding me that I have an edition due, you guys really are what keeps this paper going. Sure- I like votes as much as the next guy. But what really keeps me going is the positive comments you guys send in. Hell, I'd be good with 6 votes if I got a few nice/interesting comments.
Thirdly, I've got a question- Would you guys like a day-in-day out Balkan analysis? By that I mean a whole 3/4 month review of the Balkan war, looking something like this..
April 27
Croatia captured North Dalmatia
INSERT PIC
April 29th
Bosnia-WIPED
INSERT PIC
etc..
Fourthly, I'll be sending out PM's to my guest writers tomorrow discussing the changes I've been mentioning all week.
Lastly, I'd like to congratulate Jetsmets for winning our Town Crier Award ! We'll be sure to put in a hall of fame of something for you sometime, but for now, you get 1 gold !
