[United Front] Mid-Term Review

Day 2,419, 06:45 Published in Canada Norway by Major Lee Hung

Membership

Membership has remained stagnant for the past week. We're currently struggling against a falling eRep population, though we're managing not to shrink with it. New initiatives will be taken soon.

Party President

As I recently announced, I won't be running for party president next term. We currently have three candidates: Yst31, CptKaydee and Jenavive RoseThorn Gemstone. Good luck in the elections!

Congress

Congress hasn't achieved a great deal so far this month; only two issues of any real significance have come up and prompted debate.

Immigration Council

There are plans to create/amend the immigration laws and incorporate an immigration council. United Front currently doesn't recognise any entity like this. Our reasons can be found in the forums.

L I G H T S

L I G H T S won a congress seat under the Canadian Progressive Front this term. He then moved to the United Front. He was subsequently targeted by CPF members for his past and a vote ran to add him to the congressional blacklist. This vote failed due to the number of abstains.

United Front's stance is that we're not getting involved in an issue which resolves around CPF's inability to properly background check a congress candidate. We will be remaining impartial and leave it to the rest of the community to decide what should happen.

Presidential Elections

A close vote took place, with Yst31 winning just enough to take a majority vote to be our candidate. Ardikus came second with around 40% of the votes. Bruce Lightshade came last with 0%. I wish good luck to all candidates.

Communes, Supplies & MU

We recently began to move everybody from our commune system in which members are paid 60cc per day, to a better supply system in which they receive food & weapons plus a small amount of CC each day. In the first week, this has proven a major success and we'll be attempting to move everybody to this system in the long term. Members who move to the new system can earn at least 30% more in real terms.

Tax Income

As a warning to the next administration, the change in our commune system is likely to have a significant impact on tax revenues. The average wage will fall heavily over the next 30 days and thus have a large impact on work tax. We will donate to social programs to make up for any shortfall, but we urge the next government to take this in to account when budgeting for the month.
