[ULJ] DEMOCRACY RETURNS TO eJAPAN! (And the September ULJ Update!)

Day 2,842, 17:52 Published in Japan Russia by shirosakura

Hello everyone! Odds are, you were shocked this morning to find that a revolution
was underway in eJapan! The will of the people was strong in this battle (a nearly x10 determination bonus ensured quite a storm), and the battle that begin in the dead of the night would come to a close before the sun set on our fair nation. The result? The Shinsengumi sucessfully captured Osaka and overthrew the dictator, returning democracy to eJapan.

This is a MAJOR day in eJapan history. After nearly six months of uninterrupted rule by a dictator, eJapan has suddenly found itself thrown into a sudden, uneasy democracy. And thus begins a new chapter in our history that our people will now have to navigate. May the soul of our emperor smile upon our fair country.

ULJ News (for all the curious and the faithful!)

For all of our members who are still out there, I come to you to confide in you this fact: You were as surprised at this revolution as I was. This was an entirely coordinated effort by the Shinsengumi, and it was a mere hours before the attack that we were notified by Tsunami and SSG officers that a coup would begin. As such (and because I am still waiting on the other officers to comment), we didn't take an official stance on the conflict.

Democracy has been our goal since the dictatorship started. And now that democracy has been acheived, maintaining this democracy now becomes the ULJ's first priority. We plan to work with both the majority and the rest of the opposition to ensure that this steady peace can last.

Some other notes:

Since we are holding actual free and fair elections in four days, we intend to resume the practice of endorsing a candidate as part of this election cycle. Everyone, both Party President candidates, Diet candidates, and Country President candidates will be asked to submit a platform for us to review, after which the ULJ will officially endorse a candidate for president.CP Candidates: If you are reading this, please allow our members to meet you by submitting your platform for us to review! ULJ members, you can submit your ballots for the primary by inboxing me.

As I announced in our last article, we have officially exited the Tsunami coalition, and as of this morning, the Otaku Party, led by President Nanashi Senshi, has departed as well, effectively ending the political arm of the Tsunami MU. In this new world open to us, I want to encourage our own sense of sovereignty, and bring back pride to our historic party and our place in eJapan. Therefore, I am putting the reformation of the ULJ's MU, the Pedokuma Hunter Squad, and/or the continued negotiation of our original MU, Maid Cafe, up to a referendum vote.

The Pedokuma Hunter Squad was originally an elite unit for the ULJ's highest scoring members, but seeing as our original unit, Maid Cafe, is no longer in our possession, this is all we have left. I will count votes until the PP elections end on the 6th of August, and in that time I encourage all members to put in their input! Should we revive the ULJ's MU and restart the conduction of our own military operations?

That's all for today folks! Keep watching the news for more updates within the ULJ, and as always, stay fresh!
