This article is to give thanks for everyone involved in our congress success. Why "thanks thanks" in the title? I wanted to give thanks, then realised we had

DOUBLED

our number of congressmen, whilst at the same time helping our beloved brothers, The FDP retain their 2 congressional seats.





Yesterday, the November congressional elections took place. With Winston at the helm, everyone outside of the party, and admittedly some inside, had some doubts as to how we would fair. Everyone wrote us off; the UKRP has been PTO'd; the UKRP has done it again; they're a joke. It was expected that the TUP would again over-run congress. With our most popular congressman testing the waters with the RFA, our hopes seemed dim.





My first set of thanks go to all of the cogs that made up our party machinery this term. Whilst admittedly, as Congressional Director much of the organisation and stuff I had some part in, it is undeniable that as a party, this is the first time we have relied upon each other, trusted each other, believed we could achieve. I extend a personal thank you to every member of the UKRP: whether they spent hours with me working out our party list; messaged our members to see if they liked their candidate; helped me by providing feedback; or even logged in and voted for a UKRP candidate. Each and every single one of you should bask in this success.





My second set of thanks goes to the majority of the TUP and PCP. All month you have mocked us, trolled Winston horrendously on IRC, spammed our IRC room and been generally childish. Your unbelievable immaturity, stupidity and continued annoying-ness (if this isn't a word, good.) It spurred me to work more, work harder. It also spurred on everyone who witnessed it, to back Winston regardless, and ensure our party achieved something.





Now, I wish to thank the public of the North West. Not only have you given me the highest number of votes in a North West election in the history of eRepublik; you have also given me the chance to represent you in congress. With such a record, and such fantastic support; I thank each and every single one of you profoundly for your friendship, your trust and I hope to do you proud.





And now time for some personal thanks. In no particular order, I wish to give thanks (in the form of this picture) to the following people:

- Winston
For allowing me to run things up to, and including yesterday. It was a fantastic challenge for me, and from our results I think we can say I did a decent job 🙂 Also, when I was being sick & had to go last night, thank you for taking over at such short notice; you didn't let our count drop, and between 10pm last night and this morning, we got another 60 votes.

- Aelar
Although clearly the FDP isn't as good as the UKRP (who is, right xD), it is with the FDP's support, love and continued help that the UKRP has achieved what it has today. What we have achieved should be recognised as a group success. We should celebrate together, and continue our partnership to greater heights in the future.





Here are a couple of statistics I have managed to gather regarding yesterdays election, in tl;dr:

- UKRP Candidates: 346 votes, 12 seats; TUP Candidates: 397 votes, 12 seats.
- "the left" - 457 Votes; 16 seats (tup-pcp). "the right" - 610 Votes; 18 seats (fdp-ukrp-bep)

Now, let us discuss Winston.




I will admit, that there was dissent in the UKRP regarding Winston's win. Whilst other party's bemoaned our decision not to openly discuss Winston. We discussed at great length within the party. Our final decision? Winston is a member of the UKRP, and obviously our PP. It is in his interest for the party to do well, and we want to do well.

Whilst some of Winston's adverts and methods have caused concern, let me note here that we all realise this, and I have spoken to most PP's, apologising. Moreover, it will not continue, SHOULD YOUR OWN TROLLING/DEMI-BULLYING/IDIOCY.
