FIGHTING AND WARFARE TUTORIAL

Fighting requirements:

The first thing to remember is that you have to be over level 3 in order to fight, if you are very new to the game and are wondering whether there is a problem, when you get to level 3 you will be able to join in the fighting
You must also have at least 20 health in order to fight, however, you should really be on more than 20 ideally because it will usually take more than 1 hit in order to get a kill and add some influence to the battle.
Finally, in order to fight you must be in a country which is either directly in a war (like the united kingdom at the moment) or you must be in a country which has an alliance with a country in a direct war (e.g. the French can fight for the UK while still living in France as they are allied with us).

choosing and joining a battle:

Chosing a battle is sometimes difficult. If you sign up to be a member of a militia or the army you will get your own orders (the way this is done will be explained when you join). If you are not part of any military group, the MoD newspaper gives day-to-day info on where to fight. We recommend you subscribe to keep up-to-date.

Another way to find the best place to fight is to check the home page for a “campaign of the day”. This is the battle which the country president has selected as a priority battle.

Joining a battle is simple. Go to the home page and there should be a list of battles (these are the battles we are either directly involved with or battles our allies are fighting as explained above). Click the fight button and you get taken to the battlefield page.

How battles work:

Once you are on the battlefield page you will automatically be paired up with an opponent of similar level to you. You can then fight that person using the fight button at the bottom of the page. Each time you chose to “hit” your opponent you lose 10 health points so be very careful not to fight too much!

After a few fights you will kill your opponent (unless you run out of health). At this point you will get a pop-up that looks like this:

Clicking add influence will add your damage to the overall total which has been dealt by your side in the battle.

Your objective in a battle is very simple, you are trying to keep the blue and red bar at the top over 50% (meaning more than 50% of the damage done in the battle will have been for your side).

Every minute or so the country which has the larger portion of the par will be given points (the number of points earned varies depending on how long the battle has been going on). The first country to get a total of 1800 points wins the “mini-battle”.

In order to win the battle for the region, a country must win 8 mini battles. The number of mini battles won so far is shown by the number of crowns are filled in as shown below.

Why can others fight more than me?

There are a number of reasons why you will often see more experienced players dealing much more damage than you are in battles, I have tried to outline them below:

-The first potential reason why others are doing more damage than you is because they are fighting more. Each day a citizen can gain up to 300 health by eating food. It may simply be the case that others are dealing more damage than you are because they can afford more food and so can fight more. Some people also chose to gain additional health by buying it for gold by clicking the button shown below HOWEVER, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR GOLD VERY QUICKLY AND WILL NOT GET IT BACK

-The second reason could be that they are a stronger fighter than you. In erepublik your fighting skill is determined by your military rank and your strength. You improve your military rank by fighting in battles (every 10 influence you deal you will receive a rank point, when you have earned enough rank points you will gain a military rank). Strength is gained by training each day (by going to the training ground found by clicking the “my land” tab.

-The third way people improve the amount of damage they do is by buying weapons. There are 5 types of weapons, each adding a different amount to the damage you can deal in each hit. The different types of weapons can also be used a different number of times. All this is shown in the table below:
