The Unity Party: We Fight for Democracy
My Friends,
It seems appropriate to me that my newspaper is called Voice of Resistance. I first wrote during the dark days when the UK was occupied by Ireland, France and Canada. Back then, I used my paper to resist the occupation and today it seems I do so again.
Yesterday the forces of the Pirate Cats took away our democracy. They took away our tools and our votes, and they have prevented the democratically elected congress from doing their jobs and running the country. They have taken this, but they have not taken everything.
We still have our voices.
Dictatorship is simply wrong. If individuals disagreed with what the government was doing, then they should have done what everyone else needs to do, the right thing to do: Fight at the ballot box. They tried it during the last congress election and failed. In fact, they lost the votes of 7 cheaters who were banned for creating multiple accounts. TUP didn’t lose a single vote despite very close scrutiny from the game admins.
And so, we resist. TUP are fielding our strongest possible lineup for the congress election, with great representation from newer and passionate players in addition to wiser, older heads. We intend to show a positive, democratic vision of the UK and to send a message to those that would ignore the will of the people:
You can hold the country at gunpoint but you cannot silence us!
Our lineup for congress this month is split into two: The first half is reserved for our newer players. This month five of our best and brightest new players have stepped up to lead. They should be commended that despite the hostility directed at TUP by some players, they have held steadfast. Each wants to help. Each wants to serve. Each wants to improve their country. They are patriots and I couldn’t be prouder.
And so, the first names on our congress list are:

Secret Queen

The rest of the list is rounded out with some more experienced names. These guys have got an incredible amount to give to the country; patriots all, wizened by experience. I present to you:

Our aim in this election is simple. We want to elect all of our candidates to congress in the strongest possible rebuke to dictatorship.
We will provide a voice for any likeminded citizen that wants to see a return to democracy. And as ever, we fight for a brighter future for the UK.

As the Liberator of America, I must first say, you brought this upon yourself. No one should feel bad for you. When you treat others badly, expect it in return. This article should have been an apology to Wayne, Uk Finest and everyone else in the pirate party, instead, you double down. You must be a member of the labor party. Pretty gross if you ask me.

Last night a lot of you, just like myself gave their best to try and stop our democracy being taken away from us. Thank you to everyone!
However, the real fight and war starts today! We have to fight those people who think that they have the right to take our democracy! We have to show them that we will not let them continue with their dictatorship! Pirate Cats think that they hold the power but they are very wrong because the good hearts of people will always overpower them. Love and democracy will always win against their hate and abuse!
Having spoken to a few people I very well know that we have different views and opinions but one thing that we ALL agree on is that we want our democracy and we do NOT want a dictatorship. SHAME on you Pirate Cats! The Unity Party will be there for you ladies and gentlemen and I am sure we will continue to fight for YOUR democracy. Democracy is YOUR RIGHT!

To be fair I only fought at 1am when it was all quiet so maybe I was a little unfair with that comment. I returned here from Canada after that got boring so it’s good to have a bit of spice again!

I didn't fight, but I must say that for me UKsF as Dictator > Spite as CP. I just hope that he won't go to the road of constitutional Dictatorship and listen to others.
Tbh, the only reason I have never started a coup is because I don't have the resources he has, otherwise I would have. Best is when you can do things alone...

To be frank I think you're being far too polite to these people. This is where I think Spite, just like Dish did a few months back - believed you could engage and argue reasonably with people who simply are in it to screw everyone over.

As a congressman, I have 0 clue what we actually did that was 100% necessary. Or even more than 5% necessary, really. Game mechanics wise everything can easily be kept afloat without them. Bar the impeachment proposals, we were a rubber stamping agency for the man in charge.
Afaik SHA is gonna open the PMs again regardless, so nothing is really going to have changed at a practical level other than the gold reward. If you want the money again that badly that's fair enough, but let's not overreact here.

You then listed fending off the military coup amongst your achievements when you ran for re-election. I think you need to decide whether you should be held responsible for what happens on here when you're asleep or not...
I went to sleep because it was 4am, I had been up for over 20 hours and had to be up for a meeting later that morning, and I'm not as young as I used to be and do actually need a bit of sleep to function. Yes, I did believe the battle was lost (thanks in no part to the ridiculously high COs being set against us) but I fought damn hard in the period I was awake and managed to gather enough allies (most notably MKD and Indonesia) to continue the fight.
Had it been a TUP presidency at the time, I was assured that the outcome would have been vastly different, since the US MTO Combat Orders would likely not have stopped. So yeah, I think I can claim a little credit for the diplomacy which kept the UK out of foreign hands.
The ridiculous US MTO COs didn't magically stop because it wasn't a TUP government. It was tanking by myself and others, and ridiculously high COs placed by myself and the Macedonian MU, that defeated the MTO. I know because I was awake through the turning point in the battle, setting COs and winning the CH medal. The US may have handed you some bullshit about how they "let us win" in the end because you weren't TUP, but if they did that was just a piece of face saving diplomacy that you apparently fell for. I remember the air battle where we took the lead in points, I believe the COs set by myself and the US MU were up near 200k CC before the Macedonian MU stepped in and bumped it even higher. It was after we were already winning that the MTOers dropped the COs and gave up.
Again, my bad for actually NEEDING sleep.
