I would like to note that my main source was the Erepublik Wiki. Information that you will read might be inaccurate due to the limited amount of sources written from that period of time. I have done my best to do as much research as possible. Also I would like to apologize if the maps I have published have any mistakes because I’ve done them manually on my computer. My objective was only for you to see how the World was divided by alliances.




ATLANTIS is an abbreviation of the Atlantic Treaty of Latin, American and Nordic Territories for International Security. It was a military type alliance which was created by six(6) countries on 22 August 2008 and reached a membership of fourteen (14) countries prior to its dissolution on 21 May 2009. It was one of the two active Erepublik alliances in that period of the game, the other alliance being PEACE GC. The PEACE GC is an abbreviation of the People of Earth Associated under Common Excellence: Global Community. It was also a military type alliance having sixteen(16) members in the beginning and thirty(30) members at its peak. In order to know how ATLANTIS and PEACE GC were created, a short analysis of Erepublik Beta alliances is needed, which includes: the Northern Alliance, the Mediterranean Alliance, the Pan-American Alliance (PANAM), the Formidable International Security Treaty (FIST) and the Byzantine Empire.




The Northern Alliance (NA) was a military Erepublik alliance consisting of six (6) members, who signed the Northern Alliance Charter on 15 January 2008. Beside the Nordic countries, Norway and Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Romania and the USA were also members. A month later, on 27 February 2008, Norway decides to leave the NA while the NA was officially dissolved when the alliance members decided to dissolve the Treaty due to the formation of ATLANTIS.

The Mediterranean Alliance (MA) was an Erepublik military alliance whose founding members were Spain and France. The MA was created to connect countries who bordered the Mediterranean, but countries from all over the World have been allowed to become members. Beside Spain and France, Austria, Canada, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal were also members. The MA was also part of the first Erepublik war in which two countries had attacked a single country, together. That war was the Franco-Italian Invasion of Switzerland, caused by a diplomatic casus belli when neutral Switzerland signed a MPP with the NA member Norway. This sparked an internal conflict in the MA because the War wasn’t discussed with the MA leadership. The Alliance was dissolved in July 2008, after its members got divided on proNA and proFIST, later to become ATLANTIS and PEACE GC.

The Pan American Alliance (PANAM) was an Erepublik military, economic and diplomatic alliance consisting of five (5) members. Member countries were countries located in North and South America: Mexico, the USA, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. After some of the Alliance leaders left their position, the PANAM collapsed, in August 2008.

The Formidable International Security Treaty (FIST) was an Erepublik military alliance whose members were mostly countries located in Asia: Turkey, Pakistan, Japan, Iran, Indonesia and later Greece. The Alliance Contract was signed on 29 May 2008. FIST was never officially dissolved but the Alliance stopped working when all FIST members signed the Treaty of the new-formed PEACE GC on 26 August 2008.

The Byzantine Empire was a short-lived Erepublik alliance with Greece and Turkey as members. During its existence, the Alliance was considered a sub-group of the FIST since both Byzantine Empire members were also members of the FIST. The Alliance was created on 3 August 2008 and dissolved on 22 August 2008.


The majority members of the NA (Norway, Sweden, the UK, Romania), one member of the MA (Spain) and two members of the PANAM (the USA and Argentina) decided to form ATLANTIS. The ATLANTIS Treaty was signed on 22 August 2008. The other half of the MA (France, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy), two members of the PANAM (Brazil, Venezuela) and all FIST member states decided to form PEACE GC. The PEACE GC Treaty was signed on 26 August 2008.




The Ibero-American War (Spanish: Guerra Hispanomexicana, also Guerra de los Goons (War of the Goons)) was a military conflict started on 24 August 2008 between Mexico and Spain and it was the first major conflict between ATLANTIS and the soon-to-be-formed PEACE GC.

The proSpanish Mexican Government in August 2008 was led by President Alfonso who started preparing his plans for unification of Mexico and Spain. Three declarations of war laws have been proposed in mid-August but all three of them were rejected. Before the Local Elections in Erepublik, a Turkish group of players called the Goons, started arriving in Mexico. Their numbers were enough to win both Local and Presidential Elections in Mexico which caused fear in both Mexico and Spain of a political takeover by the Goons and cancellation of unification plans. It is also interesting to note that Alfonso and his proSpanish Government were called a political takeover group coming from Spain, by the PEACE GC. Fearing that the Goons would take over the country, Alfonso puts another war law on the vote. The law was accepted by 14-2.

The War started with the proSpanish Mexican Government and Spain on one side and the Mexican Goons, Portugal and Venezuela on the other side. Mexico first attacked Venezuela but a peace treaty was signed soon after. The Battle of the Canary Islands was the first major battle in this conflict, where Spain won a decisive victory over Mexico led by Morui Teldakoi. Beside the Canary Islands, the Battle of the Azores was started too and won by Portugal. The next day, both Portugal and Spain attacked the Mexican region of Campeche (today Southeast of Mexico). During the Campeche Battle, the PEACE Security Council was making a decision about how to get involved in this War. It was decided to send the PEACEKeeping Forces in aid of Portugal. An article was published by the Secretary General of the PEACE where it was said that PEACE would prevent Spain from attacking Mexico. The main objective of PEACE was for Portugal to win the Battle in order to block Spain from advancing into Mexico. When the Battle ended, both Spain and Portugal claimed victories.

Soon after the Battle of Campeche ended, the Erepublik Administration published an Erepublik Insider article explaining the Battle of Campeche. It was said that Portugal was the first who pressed the “Conquer Region” button and so was the country who won the Battle. It was also announced that changes in the upcoming V1 would not allow situations like this in the future. Portugal soon signed a peace treaty with Mexico. This was the first war in which a country blocked war by conquering and establishing a buffer zone. This strategy was then named “the Campeche Maneuver” in honor of the historical battle.



The new-formed alliances were soon dragged into the first global military conflict, known as the World War I. The war outbreak started when Romania, an ATLANTIS member, declared war on Hungary, a member of the PEACE GC. The reason why this regional conflict rose to be a world war is because 30 countries were present on the battlefield during the battles.

The first day of the War was marked by the Battle of Eastern Slovakia, previously invaded by Hungary. A total of 642 fights were made in this battle, 346 on the Romanian side and 296 on the Hungarian side. The next day, three new battle opened and Hungary managed to secure two regions while Romania managed to conquer the Southern Great Plain. The next two days of the War was marked by a strong defensive battles. The third day, Hungary managed to defend all its attacked regions, while Romania managed to defend from the Hungarian counter-offensive the day after. The fifth day of the War was marked by a Romanian offensive in which Hungary was left with one original region under control. The War was stopped because of the introduction of V1 and bugs in the military module and this War will be resumed on 4 November 2009 with the Battle of Southern Transdanubia. In February 2009, Hungary got their famous baby boom. At the end of November 2008, the World War I had officially ended.
