Get Informed, Get Inspired, Get Involved

Over the past few weeks, there has been some tension boiling between Croatia & Bulgaria - with India's regions smack in the middle of it. I have been addressing the issue & it's developments in my previous two articles, here & here.

Then I came across this:

So obviously further clarifications are necessary regarding the chain of events, before things go beyond a tipping point, as well as our stance on the matter. This is especially for those who are quick to start propaganda and for those who fall for it.

> Over more than a year, Croatia & later Thailand had been holding our regions in order to ensure our protection from foreign invasion even though it was an verbal agreement only & we've honored it with our cooperation.

> However, Romania were still allowed to take our regions in the last few months. In spite of assurances from the previous Croatian Govt, it was us with the help of Bulgaria, Macedonia & some 400,000 cc that I personally spent, who actually managed to remove Romania not only from our lands, but from our surrounding regions as well. Of course, it would not have been possible without the massive efforts put in by Croatia & Chile which drew Romania's damage for which we are grateful, even though there was no indication of cooperation with us in that effort.

> From what I understand, Croatia - Bulgaria relations have been quite messy off late. The former switched MPP's from the Bulgarian side to the Greeks, for whatever reason, in the middle of their war, which obviously didn't sit well with the Bulgarians.

> Bulgaria, of course, has been our closest ally for years now. We had been planning a rental with them for quite some time & it finally materialized with the op to free the Romania held regions.

However, given the tricky nature of their relations with Croatia, we initiated talks with Croatia, so an amicable solution could be reached & all parties involved would benefit from it.

> We approached and had a meeting with ElvenCro, the Croatian MoFA, with Bulgarian CP Darman & MofA, dzunka in attendance. We put forward the following proposal to them:

Croatia would hold on to Karnataka (Fruit), Andhra (Sand), Kerala (Lime), Tamil Nadu (Clay), Bengal (Grain) & Bihar (Cattle), thus ensuring that all the 6 bonuses they require are secure. Thailand would continue to hold Orissa (Deer), Jharkhand (Iron), Chattisgarh (Cattle).

India would get back North Eastern India (Iron), Rajasthan (Fruit), Gujarat, (Fruit), Maharashtra (Fruit) & give Bulgaria Jammu & Kashmir (Fruit), Northern India (Fish), Uttar Pradesh (Fruit) & Madhya Pradesh (Cattle).

Bulgaria offered us 15,000 cc for each bonus region and 10,000 cc for the non-bonus ones. We proposed to both Croatia and Thailand, that they do a formal rental agreement with us too, for 10000 cc for each of the regions they wished to hold.

The above regional distribution would ensure that (a) Croatia would have a border with us in case they lost a region under any circumstances.
(b) They would be well insulated with regions in the north and south.
(c) We would have a steady income source from Bulgaria, Croatia & Thailand - if the latter two agreed with the rental plan.
(d) Most importantly, none of the regions returned by Croatia were of any use to them & well after all our regions to decide what to do with them.

> ZDlemmy endorsed ElvenCro's authority to negotiate on his behalf & Elven found the deal to be quite reasonable. He noted that he would discuss it with Croatian Congress & look for any previous written agreements that we had - of which of course, there was none.

> Over a week passed without a word from them. Finally Elven responded after being questioned by both Darman & I on the status of their discussions, saying that Croatian Congress were skeptical of having any agreement with Bulgaria & had refused to even acknowledge our proposal. He said ZDlemmy didn't want to go against his people and we should wait till next Congress before we put forward the proposal again. I spoke to Lemmy as well & requested a meeting with their Congress in that case, if they were indeed the deciding factor & since, in Lemmy's words '99% of them had rejected any deal'.

> Over a week passed again, with no response from them. In the meantime the Bulgarians were getting restless & one of their MU's started a RW in Jammu, with both sides fighting pretty hard for it, if only for a round. Our soldiers categorically did not fight for it.

> I tried cooling things down, but Lemmy's response to the incident was that he would not entertain any talks with Bulgaria at all; he offered to return us regions only IF we agreed not to give any to Bulgaria.

Even after I repeatedly stated that of the regions returned, most of them would remain with us only & Bulgaria will only get 2 bonuses, while Croatia lost none. Moreover, this agreement was vital for our sovereignty & income flow.

> In short, we were told to sign an agreement that we would be given back regions only if we did what Croatia told us to do & we would not have any say over whether we want to give our regions for rentals or not - which is not an acceptable response to a reasonable proposal by any means.

> Another week passed with no response or resolution to the matter. Meanwhile Thailand messaged us stating that they will be resetting their determination bonuses; thus releasing their regions & taking them back via NE. We presented the rental plan to them as well, but are yet to receive any response on it either.

> Croatia too started returning their regions - most with determination bonus over 1.5 - without any indication of their plans whatsoever; on messaging Lemmy about it, there was no confirmation whether they were actually returning regions or just resetting the bonus. His only response was that in 4 days, a new CP will come in & resolve these regional matters.

> Since Jammu & Kashmir, Northern India, Uttar Pradesh had been released & I had already promised them to Bulgaria as per our talks, I gave them the green light to NE us. I have full faith in Darman, to ensure that none of the regions that are crucial to Croatia would be attacked - even if we still don't have any formal agreement with the latter.

Since Croatia didn't bother to inform us about their plans - we didn't feel the need to do so either. In spite of being friendly nations, we have only extended the same courtesies to Croatia as they have afforded to us. Moreover they seem to think that they will decide what is to be done with India's regions, in spite of them being our 'protectors'. That is a stance usually taken by occupiers like Romania, last time I checked.

There is still time for an amicable solution, even if for the past month all we
have heard are threats going back and forth. Darman has been quite patient & respectful in spite of many insults of 'traitor' & such being thrown at them. I'm sure there are sane heads on both sides who can come to a reasonable solution & not waste resources on this petty squabble.

Speaking of resources, since all I hear is how money is such a big factor in winning wars or winning friends. Here's where I stan😛

And I really, really don't want to waste it on such idiocy when I could be using this for so many of our common allies & our own upcoming citizens.

Your move, kids.
