[PN] Interview with... Sambo223

Day 2,878, 06:53 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Pannonian Nomad

Greetings everyone.
Finally we've elected a country president whom I didn't interview in the past, so here is the interview with Sambo223.

1. Tell us a few words about your real life self.

- RL Sambo is a newly(ish) qualified solicitor. I live and work in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Apart from pretending to be working by playing eRep I also enjoy playing rugby, watching the mighty Bradford City and long walks on the beach (that last one by be a lie because Bradford doesn't have much sand).

2. About eRepublik Sambo223. This isn't your first account, why did you return to eRepublik?

- eRep Sambo has been in and out of this game for a while. I first started around the time the UKPP was formed and since then I've jumped around a bit, held government jobs (I was the first ever UKPP member to be a minister). Now I'm in UKRP enjoying the game with a good bunch of people and finally took a proper shot at being elected CP. Which appears to have gone rather well 😛

3. You became CP, how do you see your future in eRepublik, what keeps you in the game and what are your ambitions?

- The main thing that keeps me and I'm pretty sure many other players in this game is the community. The game itself doesn't offer us very much anymore unless you're spending most of your RL salary on gold. eRepublik will struggle without an increase in new members joining but then the game needs to be able to hold them here or they'll just disappear. I'm not quite sure the game has the power to keep new people for very long anymore (mainly due to this 'play to win' thing the admins have had going on for a while now).

As for my ambitions in this game, right now I'm solely focused on the eUK. The region around us has really become an important battlefield again (hence constant invasion and wipe) I want to strengthen the eUK's position and help to weaken Asteria's power because let's be honest their control at the moment is getting a little boring.

4. eUK's future? What can people expect from you leading the country

- As I've said before I want a stronger position for the eUK. On top of this I want to start building up the governments funds so we can actually start to do things again. Everyone seems to have forgotten helpful and fun things like TG loans and National Strikes. While I can't promise I'll be able to bring these ideas back I at least want to get the ball rolling on making sure the eUK has the money in the future for a future CP to blow 😛

I want the eUK to be stronger and schemes like the ones above helped that and they also engaged new players, something the eUK is lacking at the moment with the gradual decline of players in the game.

5. eRepublik's future? What would you change?

- I'm not the one to ask about that. There are many people with some great ideas out there on the games economy module, political module and military module. Check out the erepublik forum or hunt through international media for articles from fellow players.

6. Who is your favourite person in eRepublik and why?

- Well that's just a tough question. The guys at Nifty (my MU) are pretty cool. I'm not gonna say names because I'll miss someone out and get stick for it and it'll upset me too.

7. Any person you dislike in eRepublik and why?

- Anyone with with a negative or abusive attitude. It's just game, we log on to have fun. Don't ruin it for everyone else.

8. A few words about your military history

- I started off in the Royal Navy when it was part of UKPP. I stuck with the MU when it spilt under Mick Cain and helped him and others (although it was mainly Mick) turn it into the awesome MU it is today. I spent some great times as Commander as well. When I left my old account I retired from the Royal Navy and now in this account I hang around in Nifty enjoying some half decent banter.

9. A few words about your political history You have a lot of experience as MoFA and MoD, what can our allies (and our enemies) expect from you as eUK's CP?

- I've never really done much in party politics, I've had a few mongress terms and one time as UKPP PP but that's in. As I said above though I was UKPP's first ever government Minister when I took my first term as MoD. I really enjoyed working in different CP's cabinets and more recently I've been working in the MoFA, creating connections with allies which I feel will greatly help my CP term. Our allies should expect someone that's going to be willing to working with them to achieve our and their goals and someone that's will stand by them in times of need because they would do the same with the eUK.

10. Do you lift?

11. Your message to the community.

- Thanks for electing me as your CP for this month. Let's work together to help rebuild a eUK that's suffering from multiple wipes. Let's get rid of the current invaders and get back to good times.
