[MoHA] Government Press Release & Caption Competition

Day 3,778, 13:35 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Weekly Press Release - Sunday 25/03/2018.

Afternoon all. This is the press release for the week gone, where the government publishes updates from each Minister about what they’ve been doing, where they are and where they are going.

It’s a good idea to subscribe to this paper to follow the updates and games published by the MoHA.

Ministerial updates

Prime Minister - Jamesw:
“So this week has seen us deal with 2 airstrikes: an offensive that could've taken us to Albania, and on the defensive to deal with Australia. The reason we chose to do this, was to support our Bulgarian allies who were planning on kicking out Albania from their colonies. The original plan was for Portugal, UK and Bulgaria to all attack simultaneously to ensure we had the most chance of winning. Ultimately it failed, and as I said in my articles following, whilst we may have failed, we put up a good fight. Congratulations are in order for Albania, they rallied their troops, and invested heavily in their defence - leaving Bulgaria and Portugal unable to attack.

Despite the fact it looked less and less likely we'd be able to land, we still did our best to fight. Real wars are hard to come by, and whilst I doubt anyone has anything personal against anyone in eAlbania, ultimately they are the enemies of our allies, so I made the decision to do all I could to land. After that, Australia hit. They managed to squeeze in 65 points whilst the world was sleeping, and as I woke up to deal with managing our defence, we were facing a 65-5 wall in their favour. Thanks to our allies, some CO setting, and some great mobilisation we did manage to win. In fact, from the moment we started fighting, Australia didn't win a single point in a single round. So whilst them having 65 points is annoying; remember - when we were actually awake, they didn't win a single one.

Other than that, Dave and I have been in discussions to look at sprucing things up a bit. Our MU rewards haven't had the desired effect, whilst damage is up, I'm not convinced that we're really getting value for money here, so we'll be rolling out some changes over the coming days. Once dave and I have finalized plans, the new approach will be announced, and we'll test it for a week or so to see how it goes. This will also have an affect on our strikes next week, which will take on a whole different format, so please keep your eyes peeled on the MoD newspaper for more updates as to exactly how and when this will change.

Woldy is still plugging away in MoHA, and I hope to have a couple more guides out by the end of the month. Huey is somewhat busy with work, but hopefully if he can find the time, we'll also have an MoD guide out too. Other than that, we continue our training war with Croatia, and we continue to work to help our allies as and when they need our help. Good luck to everyone who is running for congress, and to everyone: please dont forget to vote today.”

Minister of Finance - Huey George:
“The MoF has continued with the recording our daily snapshots of the economy eUK to add to the long-term records and managing our Government and BoE Trust Monetary Market Investments.”

Minister of Foreign Affairs - Aaron Mark Daniels:
“As well as the usual day to day business I’ve been increasingly busy this week with a lot of arselicking of our allies. They fought bloody hard for us and I’ve been making sure they feel sufficiently thanked for their actions.”

Minister of Defence - Dave Trenga:
“Over the last week have had 2 Airstrikes on our hand. One didn't go to well as we didn't land. The other one, went better as they didn't land. I'm sure orders was released at some point and we just had our weekly national strike today! As a reminder I'd like to remind everyone that next week there will not be any weekly strike due to easter holiday. However there will be something in its place which will be announced later.”

Minister of Home Affairs - Mr Woldy:
“Great Scott! And the Caption competition seem to have had a boost in interest over the past week, and the MoHA has released a new game devised by Joshinius, The Which Does Not Belong” game, with generous cash prizes to be handed out later in the week.

I have been in touch with the NHS and we are moving to a closer working relationship with them, allowing some collaboration from our MoHA Mentors and hope to review and consolidate their new player guidance before the end of the month. The MoHA mentors will be made aware of the NHS to make sure it is advertised to our newbies. Other than that it is election day so be sure to vote!”

Juracan won lasts week Caption Comp, and whether due to foreign interference or extra witty players I had to crack out my russian translator, Sergei, to judge the winners.
