It was a glorious celebration at the MDP Channels on the rizon channel last night as we took home a outstanding 10 seats in congress. It all went down quickly as the MDP council used sneaky but effective methods to secure seats at the last minute. As the victory Cheer's roared through the valley’s of the eCanada as the MDP team return to there home’s as the other “More Influential” parties walked home in shame.....

The MD Party consists of 103 members with 10 congress elected. Meaning that on average each congress member received 10 votes each.

The new constitution has no term limits on Supreme Court Justices.
We stay for as long as we want, now.
Seems to me that much the same way Canadian senators that were appointed for life wouldn't be subject to elections if they changed the rules, the current justices should also end their terms and need to be re-elected before the "no term limit" kicks in.
Might be interesting for congress to take a look at that.

Just like Fram. Nowhere near the ballot. Last minute blocker in a Top 3 region. Could I have run Fram and squeezed out an extra seat based on name recognition and it being Quebec? Sure I could of.

Yes, Dom, Kilgore is pretty awesome. I meant every compliment I gave him about the new Constitution - 2 years of "let's do this" was made a reality in less than 2 months. Too bad he wasn't deemed a worthy candidate for SVU re-election.
He was too far behind.
Would of taken 4 votes to tie, and if they got any it wouldn't have worked out.
We were getting thin at the end and he just didn't have the support necessary to put him in striking distances. Sometimes the hard call needs to be made for the good of the party.
It's the same reason I pulled myself out early in the day when I was only a couple behind. Those votes were better spent elsewhere. 2 seats is better than 1 no matter who the one is, even if it's yourself. That's what party politics should boil down too, and that's why MDP does so well.

Their PP couldn't even vote on changing the constitution because he was banned from the forum.
Their previous PP, despite having 10 seats in congress in both his terms, stood for nothing aside from flippant remarks.
It one thing to carry the football 30 times a game, but what are you doing with your touches? MOO gets less touches, and scores when they have the ball.

Actually, you're wrong. The more important members got 15+ votes where the less important more nubby members only got 3.
lol Addy. Congress is way to divided to do anything of substance. What did anyone do in there the last 2 months.
MDP may be your scapegoat though your in need of anything you can get.
Ferret you obviously don't understand elections well enough and you will fare no better in CPP when strong memebrs such as Octavian can't get support at the end.
Ferret you would of needed 4 votes at the buzzer to get in. We just didn't have the SVUs in place to send that many your way. I can honestly say you were a priority right until the end and I even spoke with Termz to see if he was planning on pushing the CPP candidate ahead of you and he said he wouldn't so that we could get you in instead.
Unfortunately Firgus had different thoughts and got a huge bump making it impossible to elect you.
As I said before hard decisions had to be made including stopping the support of myself which I did early in the day (16:00 game time) so that I could ensure members got in in other regions. It's all a numbers game and sadly some people just fall short.
No limit on terms was not an oversight. The second addendum to the constitution states that until new legislation is brought forward, the judicial procedure from the old constitution stands. I had planned on spending this month working with congress and the judiciary to develop a "Judicial Orders Act" outlining courtroom procedure. The courts however are currently interpreting the lack of term limits as an implication that no limits exist.
Congress still has the legal authority to impose a term limit, however the judiciary has the legal authority to deem it unconstitutional. It's as if somebody constructed a Constitution in such a way that our separate branches of government will have to WORK TOGETHER rather than engaging in a never-ending power struggle. All this being said, there is still a vacant seat in the Supreme Court that can be filled this month.
In regards to the MDP showing in this election, first off Ferret, I like to think that I'm a pretty important MDP member and I didn't get SVU support. It happens sometimes and we have to find a way to move on.
Secondly, let me remind everybody that the new constitution was an MDP initiative. I also put forward a proposal on how to reform the immigration system but got shut down by the forum admin because one of them didn't want to create a new section. I also put forward a handful of proposals trying to get congress to take some of it's new cabinet powers but got shut down because everyone in the other parties are so distrusting that they're afraid to try anything new.
The MDP is trying to put things forward, and although we had the most seats, we were far from being the majority. Sadly, the majority of congress is satisfied with the status quo and so paranoid that every single person in this country is a thief that they are afraid to do anything. Mind you, a two week argument over whether or not Tem should be banned for nominating Adam Sutler didn't help either. It seems that congress is disinterested in legitimate reforms, but they'll eat up lulz nonsense.
