【jw】 Foreign affairs and final statements: In the chair
Hell The Great
Over the last couple of months, it became clear Orion wasn't really in the market to do things. To say Pauly hauled us out is unfair: moves to get out of Orion began months ago. But, at the same time, we've been left without an official position on our foreign policy: minus the buggery with MURICA and Columbia. A look at our MPPs also has a vast myriad of countries, we're lacking focus.
Thus, the main goal I have in my term is to formulate a clear policy, and through discussions and negotiations with other alliances, ensure that there is at least one alternative to my own preferred policy. These options will then be discussed publicly, allowing for a line in the sand to be drawn, and progress made.
This progress should result in a clear and indicative readjustment of our foreign relations throughout the course of the month, most obviously in relation to the MPPs that we maintain. As well as the stack of MPPs we retain, I'll also be looking to ensure there's some geographic wizadry to shore up our defences, but this will ultimately depend on how the current USA/Columbia negotiations progress: ultimately I feel Pauly is doing the best that can be done at present, but it isn't sustainable to remain at the mercy of breakable promises.
To spice things up a little, in my term I'll be merging the MoD and MoFA, to recreate a role that enabled more of a direct relationship between the 'soft' and 'hard' power a country can wield in eRep: The MoDAFA. Not only will I be tasking this ministry with the continuation of the great work on supplying and rallying our active fighters, but I'll also be tasking it with finding out how we can create some kind of fast-response groups, to enable us to create a true mobile unit: not just to push walls, but also to ensure any potential RWs are opened as soon as possible. Such a unit will ultimately require funding, and thus before any funding commitments are made, I will ensure a reasonable estimation of costs is presented for discussion.
As well as the hard power on the battlefield, this ministry will be tasked with improving our soft power, specifically in our weak spots at present; the ruling groups of other nations. There are several nations I've highlighted as being countries who are open to developing such relationships, and through the introduction of fresh blood into the foreign affairs arena, I'll be hoping to ensure the foundational lines of communication are established and developed throughout the course of the month.
On a final note, I'd like to announce the current cabinet positions I've filled. I'm always looking for fresh faces to get involved, be that at a minister of deputy level: the more people that can share the tedium, the more likely we'll be able to maintain a stable level of activity over the month: so anyone interested in helping the UK, please don't hesitate to drop me a message.

"and through discussions and negotiations with other alliances, ensure that there is at least one alternative to my own preferred policy. These options will then be discussed publicly, allowing for a line in the sand to be drawn, and progress made."
Translation: "my idea might suck, but if I present it next to a plan that blatantly sucks more then the public will chose my sucky preference. And then at the end of the month if everyone agreed the plan sacked, I can blame the public for supporting the idea (even if it is the less sucky option)"
Basically, if you think a given course of action is right, then why try to find an alternative plan which you don't believe will work as well??
Democracy at work 😉
Ultimately as past decisions have shown, unless everyone is behind something, it rarely lasts more than the lifetime of the President who does it. So yeah, maybe people prefer the alternative to my idea: that's fine. I'll make it happen, and then as it's what the vast majority of people supported, it's more likely to be policy that'll stick.
What tends to happen is that the CP will put forth an idea and why and mongress decide how to vote.. For most votes the alternative to the plan is "leave things as they are". It seems irrational to put into action a policy you know is a bad idea and all that'll happen is the person after you reversing it.
love ya jimmy lad, but Pauly needs to finish what he started...
Nah, we need a change
Well if Jimboi wants to model himself on Obama, then fair enough. But lets be real, it's Trump that's gonna make eUK great again!
Are you accusing me of blackface? Photos, or it didn't happen!
I see you moar as a gropey Bush Sr. A darkworld operative pulling the strings behind the curtain and someone to take the blame when it all goes wrong...
