[IsW] Announcing Presidential Interviews + George Armstrong Custer Talks

Day 2,807, 05:59 Published in USA USA by Lunete2.0

Good day everyone, welcome to my newspaper for the first time!

You all may be asking yourselves, 'HEY, LUNETE, WTF WITH UR HEADER NOT SAME NAME AS PAPER LOL WTF', well, dearest loyal reader I'm here to answer that question with one word. Plato. Plato, the monster Plato, has caused server errors whenever I try to change the name of my newspaper, and like the monster he is, it hasn't been fixed for TWO DAYS wtf Plato. Well in any case here's your article. Enjoy.
So, I'm a fairly new player to eRepublik, and as a fairly new player to eRepublik I obviously can't keep using the 'fairly new player to eRepublik' card for much longer, so I thought I'd go and make myself nice and relevant to the world.

So without further ado, I'm now announcing that there will be some interviews appearing soon with the major players for this month's CP election, to be released whenever the hell I feel like it.

The questions are nice and general so the interviewees can answer pretty much however they like, I didn't want to get into anything too crazy for my first effort, but if these do well I'll be working on bringing lots more interesting content to the table.
To pad out this announcement I'm including my interview with Mr
George Armstrong Custer
, the old veteran of eRepublik who happened to be running for presidency for his own reasons. I thought I might as well send him the same questions because why not.

He greeted me with this message, immediately reassuring me.

'am I on the ballot? oh, I see.. a mere formality, I assure you.
my only interest in running for President is to be sure that Ajay doesn't come in second or even third in the final tally. if there's enough properly viable candidates to assure him a severe loss without my help, I generally bow out.
America does not want this old fu-k as President.

but let's pretend for just a moment that my candidacy is relevant...'

So we began.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.
Once upon a time I was a soldier in the old eUSArmy. I did stuff, I earned rank, I led from the front. I ran the Army Times newspaper, the Cavalry Times and two newspapers in Switzerland, in addition to my own Custer's Stand. I've been Secretary of Media several times, running the White House Press Report and Pony Express as well as the eNPR radio show. Then I got old, and tired, and jaded... and withdrew from the game to 2-click, which led me to forming the Old Fu-ks United Party, and the occasional totally not serious POTUS candidacy.

2. What would you most like to achieve in eRepublik?
Achieve? I hope to be among the last men standing. I want to be there to see who wins eRepublik. I expect it will be Pfieffer, winning a war of attrition just out of stubbornness. He wants to be the one to turn out the lights, and I want to be there to see it.

3. So how do you think you’ve earned the community’s votes?
Earned votes? Oh, hell, no. there was a time when Custer was almost relevant, but that was years ago.. I could be a better President than some of the quacks who've been ordained then elected, but it'll never happen. And I'm okay with that.

4. What things would you like to change if you were in charge?
The Dictatorship Law has to go... but that's a matter for Congress. As President I would decline the accompanying Dictatorship and fight against it.

5. Who are some of your favorite people in the community?
Most of my favorite people are either dead or mostly inactive. Scrabman was the first President I communicated with, and he made me feel important even at just a few months old. Jewitt was another great leader I admired, and am proud to have fought beside. Lieutenant Scheisskopf was my inspiration to write, and write well.

Among currently active players… I absolutely love current Swiss MoFA Rican. Zheng He has always had my utmost respect. Also Phoenix "El Profesoro" Quinn. there are others.. very few people I've met in this miserable game who I'd care to know out in the world, but yes, I'd be proud to have some of these people as real world friends.

6. Now feel free to shamelessly advertise your stuff.
Shameless self-promotion? Me?
