It’s good news day! I hope you enjoy reading through these uplifting stories and if this made you slightly more positive about the day, feel free to share this with other people!

Excited Essex Seals Get First Dip in Deep Water

Four rescued seals were unable to hide their joy after they were introduced to deep water for the first time. The grey seal pups, rescued from different parts of the East coast, are being cared for at South Essex Wildlife Hospital, near Grays.

Until they are healthy and fit enough, they are confined to a shallow pool.
The charity's founder, Sue Schwar, sai😛 "They spent hours racing about and playing before settling down, leaving all of us with a huge smile." The latest seals to enjoy the rescue centre's deep outdoor pool are just four of the 14 pups currently being cared for.

The charity's founder said the seals' "joy was completely infectious" They have to be feeding themselves and be free of any diseases before they are allowed to try the big pool, "so there's a bit of a queue", said Ms Schwar.
The four seals currently enjoying the experience are about five or six months old now, and have been at the centre for much of their young lives.
Posting photographs of them on the hospital's Facebook page, she wrote: "Watching grey seal pups experience deeper water for the first time is a sight that will never get old.

Bluebird’s Battle Back to Coniston

Donald Campbell's restored Bluebird will finally return to the Lake District on Saturday, nearly 60 years after the crash that claimed the record-breaker's life. It follows a painful saga that erupted into anger and bitterness.

Introducing himself as an amateur diver, Bill Smith outlined his ambition to locate Bluebird's crumpled wreckage on the dark, unforgiving bed of Coniston Water in England's North West.
If successful, he continued, would Miss Campbell "like a piece of it"?

"How dare you," she says she replied. "It belongs to my family. It's my father's grave. You can't go taking pieces off it."

That conversation in 1996 came almost three decades after the jet-engined craft had somersaulted violently, its pilot paying with his life in attempting to push his water-speed world record past 300mph (480km/h).

But the call's combative nature foreshadowed a hostility that included legal proceedings as Coniston's Ruskin Museum - gifted the wreckage by the Campbell Family Heritage Trust in 2006 - sought to enforce the craft's return from Mr Smith's North Shields workshop.

The craft in which Donald Campbell set a total of seven water-speed world records will now become the star attraction at the Ruskin, a stone's throw from where its skipper is buried.
While praising the rebuild by Mr Smith's team of Bluebird Project (BBP) volunteers as "nothing short of a miracle", Miss Campbell describes the years-long row as "a tragedy".

"The people of Coniston will have Bluebird, as they deserve, and my dad's remains for ever and a day."

Memorial Milestone Reached After School Project Inspiration

11-year-old Harrison Johnson from North Carolina has raised $81,000 to help fund history projects to tell the story of the attack on Pearl Harbour. The money was raised by collecting donations door-to-door, selling patriotic popsicles, and public speaking engagements (yes, by Harrison himself).

Following a visit to the Pearl Harbour National Memorial in Oahu, Harrison was motivated to start a campaign to ensure that the heroes and victims of the date which will live in infamy are never forgotten.

His fundraising campaign called “Harrison’s Heroes” is looking to raise $100,000 for Pacific Historic Parks, the Non-Profit that stewards the Pearl Harbour memorial. In particular, Harrison hopes it can produce material that expands the story of the attack to include heroic acts from men and women of colour, and other underrepresented members.

Another week of good news is in the books! I will leave you with a short clip from the lovely Bob Mortimer!
