[DoD] SECDEF on Shifting Foreign Policy

Day 2,186, 12:14 Published in USA USA by dmjohnston

I've had a bit of concern lately, America. But first, this: Mood Music

With the collapse of CoT, the eWorld is running around like a bunch of headless chickens.

Our government has decided to support Spain in a number of battles and many citizens are not happy. "But they are the enemy!" they say. "We will never fight for them!" they cry out.

Now, maybe you're an old player and have forgotten, or a new player and just don't know. Either way, I'm about to teach you: friends and enemies in eRepublik are ever-changing. When I was a young player, with a few exceptions, the international political landscape was rather different from now.

We fought against eIndonesia, not for them.
We fought for the eUK, not against them.
We wiped the shit out of eFrance, not worked beside them.
We wiped eMexico for their resources, not called them Bros.
We assaulted eRussia, not fought the Huns together.

So what's my point? Things change. Saying you'll never fight for Spain is silly. We have before, and I'd personally be honored to again. Same goes for Poland and a host of other countries.

The only reason we really keep playing this game is because there's the chance for anything to happen. Any given day, our country could obliterate another. Part of that hope is knowing that alliances are not fixed. The option to change is there.

Chill out, America. Come along for the ride. See what new things we can do with some new (old) friends.
