[DMJ] Return of the Rough Riders
dmjohnston
It’s been over 100 years since our last ride.
Mood Music: Look at my horse, my horse is amazing.
I made a point, very early in my terms as President, to improve our relations with the young nation of Cuba. For two months, we rented the regions of Las Villas and Oriente. I personally arranged for the release of regions for them to increase their number of congressional seats. For those two months, the eUS was very accommodating in the relationship.
This month, despite our automatic renewal clause from October’s agreement, Cuba’s new government wanted new terms, claiming that despite having been paid in excess of the collected taxes over the prior two months of an occupation that began as aggression, the situation was an economic hardship.
I am not privy to what went on during those negotiations, but what is known is that on September 11th, the Cuban government actively supported the resistance war in Cuba during the attack on our homeland by Thailand. In that act, the Cuban government showed that they were not interested in negotiating new terms. They would rather fight.
Fight we shall.
116 years ago, the Rough Riders fought to liberate Cuba from the Spanish. Today, we ride into Cuba in conquest. We have tried diplomacy and it has failed. Now we do what America does best: fight.
Dio bless you, and Dio bless the eUnited States of America.

"but what is known is that on September 11th, the Cuban government [actively supported the resistance war in Cuba during the attack on our homeland by Thailand]."
Well no sh*t. There Pro-LETO/Asteria. *Glances at MPPs*
Oh look, Argentina, Norway and Serbia.
Oh look. Thailand has MPPs with LETO/Asteria
So no duh they're gonna support the AS and RW.
In that act, the Cuban government showed that they were not interested in negotiating new terms. [They would rather fight].
Since I am originally of Cuban decent, I too would rather fight an online country that resembles a real country that has constantly in the past wanted the land of my relatives. *cough* the Embargo *cough* Missile crisis *cough* Spanish-American war *cough* Bay of Pigs. *cough* Naval Blockade
Sure, why not continue with the RL rhetoric that brought about the whole 9/11 debacle to begin with.
The fact remains that the Cuban government has made it clear that diplomacy is not on the table, so we are responding accordingly.
Can you blame the...? Lool
Ok, if you want to bring up real life, then answer this. If the real life United States is such a terrible country they why exactly are we being flooded with hordes of illegal immigrants who break the law and risk their lives sneaking in here from Central, South America, and wait for it......Cuba? If we are so terrible and your home countries are so great then why not just stay home? Miami is full of Cubans who floated their way here in whatever they could find that would float. Pretty much everyone south of the Rio Grande river that can swim or run fast enough to jump onto a moving train has already snuck in too. So why all that trouble to escape the paradise that is Latin America to sneak into the awful United States?
The Spanish-American war was about liberating Cuba from their colonial oppressors. If the United States wanted to own Cuba we would. Seriously think about all the places the United States has sent troops to that we could have occupied. France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Cuba, Phillipines, Japan, Korea, China, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. If you're going to drag rl in it helps to have your facts straight.
Facts:
France: War aid
Belgium: War aid.
Germany: War
Italy: War
Cuba: Try to oust Castro
Philippines: War/We owned
Japan: War
Korea: War aid
China: War aid
Iraq: War
Afghanistan: War
The US did "own" Iraq and Afghanistan. So you're wrong there.
Second; why would the US occupy land of allies.
I only counted 5 countries we occupied for quite some time (Germany; East Germany, Cuba, Philippines, Iraq and Afghanistan.)
@Morn
It is terrible up here if you illegally immigrate up here. In Spanish Class back in High School we watched this movie (based on a true story) of this group (made up for Guatemalans, Mexicans, Nicaraguans, and Colombians) get over the US border to have a better life. It was good for the first weeks. Then they realized they had to escape Immigration Officers every other day. End of the story; they all illegally crossed back the Mexican border and went home. Point of story; you don't realize the U.S. sucks until you get there.
Exactly war aid. The Soviet Union gobbled up half of Europe. The United States spent blood and treasure liberating Europe, restoring order, rebuilding, and then handed it back.
"It is terrible up here if you illegally immigrate up here."
" Point of story; you don't realize the U.S. sucks until you get there. "
That is exactly as it should be. When people break our laws and sneak in here against the will of our citizens then it should "suck" and be horrible for these illegals. Point of fact we should be putting illegals in prisons if they are adults and we should be deporting illegal children back to their home countries. If someone can't be bothered to follow our laws and come here legally then they should have no expectation of being treated decently. These people are criminals not immigrants. People here illegally should not be able to earn as living, drive cars, or even rent a place to stay. They are fully capable of following the law they just don't respect our country enough to follow the law. So why should we show illegal criminals any respect.
