[DMJ] Return of the Rough Riders

Day 2,500, 06:51 Published in USA USA by dmjohnston

It’s been over 100 years since our last ride.

Mood Music: Look at my horse, my horse is amazing.

I made a point, very early in my terms as President, to improve our relations with the young nation of Cuba. For two months, we rented the regions of Las Villas and Oriente. I personally arranged for the release of regions for them to increase their number of congressional seats. For those two months, the eUS was very accommodating in the relationship.

This month, despite our automatic renewal clause from October’s agreement, Cuba’s new government wanted new terms, claiming that despite having been paid in excess of the collected taxes over the prior two months of an occupation that began as aggression, the situation was an economic hardship.

I am not privy to what went on during those negotiations, but what is known is that on September 11th, the Cuban government actively supported the resistance war in Cuba during the attack on our homeland by Thailand. In that act, the Cuban government showed that they were not interested in negotiating new terms. They would rather fight.

Fight we shall.

116 years ago, the Rough Riders fought to liberate Cuba from the Spanish. Today, we ride into Cuba in conquest. We have tried diplomacy and it has failed. Now we do what America does best: fight.

Dio bless you, and Dio bless the eUnited States of America.
