[CPF] Mooseing along Mooseingly
Randall Flagg 1999
Long time no see (or so it seems)
So here is the latest news from the underground. First we have passed new taxes for our country. For weapons a modest boost from 10 to 15 % value tax and a bump from 1 to 10% import tax. The former is to help raise some revenue and the later to make it easier for us to be the ones selling on our markets, yet enough to make some revenue off those how sell here from other countries.
For food we had a large increase from 10 to 25% with import taxes following the same pattern as for weapons. The large boost here is because the rock bottom prices of our food industry will not be as affected by such an increase in taxes as weapons would be. Therefore food prices may go up somewhat, but in a way that should only be noticeable in the government revenue.
We in the CPF reached this deal with the other parties in congress. This was not the sole work of any one party but agreement and discussion between all those involved. Which I can say is a victory for eCanada.
In other news, I have declared Foxfire as the CPF nominee for Country president. I am not going to campaign for him here, rather this is just a heads up for those not in the loop. So I will leave it at I have known him long enough to know he is a capable administrator who is willing to work with others.
Moving on.
This last bit is strictly for CPF members and it is my next little in party promo. CyngusX1, a former eUK citizen has been very keen to help out so I have had him do some leg work in getting a party quiz together. It is going to be rather simple. Tomorrow I am going to publish an article with a series of questions about erep and eCanada. These questions will have certain point values attached to them. You will then PM me the answers. The contest will only last for two days, so get your answers in quick! The top three entries will receive some awesome prizes! Though I think you all know what they will comprise : P
So until next time, all hail the moose!

" The former is to help raise some revenue and the later to make it easier for us to be the ones selling on our markets, yet enough to make some revenue off those how sell here from other countries."
I always laugh at these statements. Exactly how much revenue do you expect from the change? Otherwise, you are just throwing stuff against the wall to see if it will stick. Same old eCan.
We need to try something. Our current revenue sucks inappropriate things.
An income tax increase could help. The drop off in revenue is noticeable when we went from an income tax of 10% to 1% according to the daily income spreadsheet:

The US is running a 25% income tax now, could look into the results of that maybe.
We have a little something in the works, but we want to gauge the effects of the VAT increase first, to make sure it is working before we start pulling more levers.
Crock ...
Even though men don't have breasts like women, they do have a small amount of breast tissue. In fact, the "breasts" of an adult man are similar to the breasts of a girl before puberty, and consist of a few ducts surrounded by breast and other tissue. In girls, this tissue grows and develops in response to female hormones, but in men -- who do not secrete the same amounts of these hormones -- this tissue doesn't develop.
However, because it is still breast tissue, men can develop breast cancer. In fact, men get the same types of breast cancers that women do, although cancers involving the milk producing and storing regions of the breast are rare. An estimated 2,190 cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in men in 2012.

For once Addy and I are in agreement. The only one who did any ACTUAL researched was SpockPQ and his findings were dismissed because others "felt" that the economy "should" work a certain way. We'll be lowering the VAT again next month. I guess the only REAL benefit is keeping those congressmen occupied.
I mean, they gotta pretend they're earning that 5g somehow right? Otherwise folks might start to notice that it's the same 10-15 people in congress month after month after month.
A VAT increase was announced as a strong possibility after the recent Congress elections. EPD even made it part of his CP announcement, so the topic was on the table. It is unfortunate that those with such a strong position on the VAT issue (and who had research, too) could not be elected to take part in the decision-making process in Congress. I know I'd have liked to see the topic more strongly debated/evaluated in Congress, yet decided not to run, so will accept the decision of others.
