[CP] State of The Nation

Day 2,653, 06:59 Published in Ireland South Korea by An Sluagh

Citizens of the Republic,

In this article I aim to brief you entirely on the current State of The Nation. What is going on, what isn't happening and rounding each piece off with my own opinion. I have not written any articles of similar nature in a while where I addressed problems and issues that are faced as the nation on a whole. However, due to the lack of domestic events I feel we need to inform the citizens on everything that is going on, no matter how small and boring they may be.

[Economy]

The eIrish economy is performing very well in recent weeks. The Government have made some interesting changes that are aimed at maximizing efficiency, revenue and satisfaction for the population as a whole.

[Irish Army Supply Structure]

The first major change was amending the way in which the Irish Army is funded and run their supply system. The Government has proposed a budget of 20'000 IEP per month for the Irish Army. Why only 20 000? The Government decided to change the old supply system in order to save as much money as possible and be cost efficient. Irish Army soldiers are going to be encouraged to take jobs in privately owned companies and send their wages to the Commander. Mr. Tayto, the Irish Army Commander, is then going to send the money to the Minister of Finance and the MoF will in return send him the respected amount of tanks plus 2400 extra tanks needed to keep the same amount of supplies per day for IA soldiers.

These changes means saving of up to 25 000 IEP per month simply by changing from the Commune System to a Non-Commune System.

$ = wage
q7's = Quality 7 tanks

Irish Army soldiers are going to make roughly about 72 000 IEP salary per month. Their salary is going to be used to buy tanks off the market. This amount of money is enough to buy 12 000 q7 tanks and to keep their current level of supplies, the State will add an extra 2400 q7 tanks worth 14 400 IEP. This is an estimation of the costs for IA. The remaining 5600 IEP of the budget is going to be stocked/saved up or used as reserves and to cover any kind of extra costs.

Addition:

1. If Irish Army recruits more soldiers budget can be slightly changed
2. If prices changes budget can be slightly changed

In my opinion this is an interesting change, it maintains the good supplies of the Irish Army whilst also benefiting business owners who now have a larger labour market and will be making more sales of Q7 Weapons due to the State now purchasing them. I personally am excited to see if this new system is successful in the long-run.

[Tax Amendments]

Following the resource wars, Ireland was given new resource bonuses. We have 6 regions and have 6 different resources which is a blessing itself. Our new resources are as follows:

This is:

80% food bonus
40% weapons bonus

Considering our new and better bonuses, the Government felt it was time to change our tax structure to the following.

Red - Current tax
Green - New proposed tax

The Government wanted to see Irish producers having more favourable conditions than their foreign competitors who were importing into the Irish market. There's still plenty of foreign offers on our raw materials markets, which makes things harder for our domestic sellers to sell their products/material. Since we can produce lot more now, we can afford to raise our Import Taxes on Food Raw Material to 60% which would make sure that foreigners are selling rarely enough here. Possibly never. Same could be said for Weapons Raw Material. Even though we don't have such high bonuses, I believe we have enough to produce a sustainable amount for ourselves.

We should already be able to produce enough for our own needs, this means we should be able to supply ourselves without foreign producers. Overall, Ireland should be looking to become more self sufficient.

[MPPs]

So far this term we have signed 5 Mutual Protection Pacts at an expense of 50,000 IEP to the taxpayer.

Our allies have a combined damage output of: 557,476,873,684.

This amount is colossal in comparison to our damage output of 8,658,666,446

Macedonia are one of our greatest allies and have been there for eIreland whenever we ask. Our friendship blossomed during our days together in Aurora but stretches further back than that. They are an MPP I would recommend any future President sign.

Chile is similar to Macedonia in regards to the length of our friendship. They have always been there for us and no doubt will continue to be there. Last week they as a nation had the second highest damage output in the eWorld. This alongside our friendship with one another makes their MPP very valuable to us.

Russia is a relatively new friend to eIreland. They have constantly requested a renewed MPP and have outlined their interest in us as an ally. My own personal knowledge of the history between our nations is not that rich. However watch this friendship, good things may be coming.

Croatia is one of our oldest and richest friends in this game. The deep roots between our nations is evident in the amount of RL Croatians who have made eIreland their home. Ireland and Croatia were once the strongest of friends you could imagine and nobody would dare touch eIreland as they knew Croatia had our backs. It is great to see this friendship to be returning to its ways of the past.

USA is also a long time friend of eIreland. We have been friends long into the past, a symbol of this was an alliance we formed called Brolliance which consisted of Ireland, USA, Canada and Japan. The USA and Ireland have a history of cooperation with another which has seen us rent regions from them, has seen them rent regions from us and seen us work together in the recent Resource Wars. May our work together continue into the foreseeable future.

[Population Activity]

Irish population is still going steady. Since December we have had an increasing trend. However the number of votes cast fell in the Presidential Election on the 5th of February. I don't know if this is due to a decline in activity or due to the number of citizens not casting a vote as they felt no candidate represented them best. We will get a more up to date figure of the voting population tomorrow in the Congress Election.

Our media is active enough which is good to see. It has always been claimed that our media is one of the most active among countries of our size and we should seek to maintain this. The media is one of the most fun parts of this game as it is available to everyone and everyone can make an impact. I know from personal experience that it can be difficult to find content or anything to write about but there are several things that can be done.

Here are a few examples of some sort of things you can write:

-Interviews
-Review A Nation
-Personal Opinion
-Your Experiences In Game
-A Know How To Guide/Tutorial
-Poetry
-Jokes
-Images or Memes
-A Story Involving eRep Players

It is us the citizens who can decide how active our nation is. We do not need war or political debate to cause activity. We need social interaction.

[Babyboom]

So far we have raised €42 with at least another €50 pledged and set to come into our accounts which are being administrated by Ian Arb, a trusted citizen.
