[CP] Last days of the Elite Era

Greeting dear citizens,
We have one week until the next CP election is held. If you haven't guessed from the title, I won't be seeking a third term of office. The time has come to pass the baton.
It's been a pleasure to serve as your President for the past two months and to have been able to unite eIreland. I can't deny we've had outside factors influencing this unity in particular our current war with Lithuania, but whatever the reasons we are a strong community who looks out for each other. I hope that this will continue into the future.
On the top of my agenda last December was to draw up a concrete Constitution that was both effective but also allowed for leniency so we can be a democracy. It's much harder than it was initially thought, however I have been working with the Re-drafting Committee tirelessly over the past two months. We have a bit to go before the provisional draft is released to the public and I only hope the next government allows us to see this through.
I want to thanks my cabinet for the last 2 months. They have been so active its unbelievable. Its been so reassuring to have such a strong team on my side.
Finally I want to thank you, the citizens, who voted for me in two elections, to give me the opportunity to lead this country, I hope I haven't disappointed.
There's still a week to go. That time will be spent sewing up any loose ends so that me successor will have a fresh slate to work with.

Its been a interesting 2 months for you, and you've survived it unscathed, a real CP needs to survive an impeachment vote (it used to be the standard test).
Ireland has seen some difficult times recently, abusive messages, multi voting to rig elections, boycotting of congress threads, people leaving for other country's, former friends trying to sabotage Ireland's alliance application & even fighting against us in the recent Air strike.
All theses events while potentially disastrous, have actually helped bond its remaining citizens together, congress is working well (no shouting,fighting or insults, just civil discussion, the first in ages) and while we still may not be free of the Intruders we are getting there and hopefully will be in the coming week.
No matter where you go in erepublik, you will never find another Ireland, we are not a big country/superpower, or have a 100% production bonus. However we have one asset that other country's can't match "its people have a heart of gold and make everyone welcome", no matter what race, colour or creed the person is.
Its our unique ability to promote the friendship/social aspect of the game that draws people back time and time again to Ireland, long may this precious gift continue.

You did not inherit a good time, but you handled it responsibly.
