Citizens of the Republic,
Over the past few days, the RL Irish Government have brought in new legislation which will see a minimum price for alcohol be implemented. No longer will poor students like myself be able to avail of a €4.99 bottles of wine in Lidl, instead I will have to fork out at least €7.20. It's a load of bollox. What will be even more upsetting is that no longer will I be able to buy a €5 naggin of Huzzar vodka from Maguires.
Before these new prices kick in, I propose an eIrish gathering. We gather in the pub, have a pint and figure out who the really ugly ones are. It could be great craic (for all the foreigners, this means fun - it could be great fun).
We won't be like the other real life gathering of eCommunities. We won't wear tacky tshirts that cost €5 for them but €20 in our overpriced nation but instead wear our finest Penneys tshirts and H&M hoodies.
Are you brave enough to confront your comrades face-to-face? Are you adventurous enough to get the bus or train to the Capital when there isn't a GAA match on? Comment below if interested to come.
Note to foreigners - Ryanair is cheap as feck so you can make it too, you can also visit our lovely island and all of it's lovely people.

Alcohol is still cheap as chips up North (comparatively), at this point buying a bus/train ticket to Newry + the cash for your Lidl special offer pack of lager (they water that down btw) or a bottle of wine probably works out cheaper than the joke prices they're setting down south 😃
If I was on that side of the world I'd be down.

I didn't think the alcohol pricing had definitely been set yet. I thought that various sections of the media were making their best guesses or making outrageous guesses to sell more newspapers. There is also the issue of NI pricing. The government seems to be linking any move on our part to NI bringing in the same thing. If NI don't push their minimum prices up then we will be back to a situation where people will travel 100 miles to cross the border for cheaper goods. Anyway this is all well into the future, conveniently after the next election for our current government.
Re the RL meet up I might be interested, more details required.
