[BOK] CP versus Coalition government
Boklevski
Dear UNL citizens,
Last two months, the CP candidates provided a government in their campaign articles! That was something never done before in UNL. What changed?
Those last two months, we had a "trial" period. In UNL, we used to have a system comparable to the RL political system in The Netherlands and Belgium: of all political parties, two or more formed a "coalition", having a majority in congress, to govern the country. I don't have to explain it in detail to you, as you'll probably recognize that from RL.
However, sometimes it took a long time to form the government. (How incredibly comparable to the current situation in both The Netherlands and Belgium, huh?) Therefore, we "tried" what most other eCountries do: having the government being formed by the elected Country President (compare to the RL USA system).
Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, and now we are looking into what we want in the future: do we want the coalition government we always had, or the CP government we tried out? In the end, Congress will decide, but YOU can also give your opinion here: http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5966.
The debate in congress - where you also can participate - can be found here: http://www.enetherlands.nl/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5948
Didn't you know we had a government? Then you probably aren't registered at the forum, and you're probably not subscribed to the government newspapers.
* The forum is completely free, doesn't require any personal information, and will enhance the fun in the game (plus, the people on the forum are really nice!). You can register here: http://www.enetherlands.nl/index.php

Thanx Bok!
Nice article, voted.
Voted!
CP gov is easier, since we can pick all the good people from multiple parties. At the times of congress gov, back when there was a BP/LSD coalition they still had to take I&W members as independent ministers.
Thank you Bok! 🙂
Interesting discussion indeed, voted!
garmr... easier is not by definition better...
it´s real easy to eat junkfood everyday, not really good though.
Good article, voted! And +1 Daniel Parker.
CP gov sucks i mean look at what has been accomplished this month..... nothing.
"CP gov is easier, since we can pick all the good people from multiple parties. At the times of congress gov, back when there was a BP/LSD coalition they still had to take I&W members as independent ministers."
I agree with Garmr, CP gov is more efficient and less complex. It is not about party politics but on the qualities and merit of each of the ministers in government. In the end, the president controls the government, do you think he should choose his own team? What if We put Mitch Rapp with Jos Alembic or Shakerr in a same gov etc in the other system? All I will see is a lot of in fighting and insults fling at each others since while they are not enemies but their ideologies are too different and they really do not get a long well.
As to Mitch's comments, what? Accomplished nothing? How is that related to how we gets ministers etc? Maybe you should complain about congress but as far as I see it, CP gov and nothing done in congress is not the same issue. The gov in Phoenix and in NL itself did good work.
the only difference between party formed-gov and CP gov is that in the first people fight each other indoors, and in the second the fight is between government and the congress... btw konrad aren´t you a congressmen?
