[BC4CP] A Response and Policies

Day 2,632, 13:52 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by BaronChris

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all well. As someone who has always tried to be kind and friendly to those on the game, I have chosen to write a response to this round of allegations against me. It's short, mainly because there really isn't much to it. If those who don't like me want to make a big fuss, let them, I hope that my friends and intelligent citizens will see through it as election time slander and choose the candidate who decided to rise against slandering the other candidates.

In regards to the Lord London business, I am of a strong opinion that people will do what they want. In a wonderfully well written article, it argues that I am complicit in multi-abuse. This, I am not. I suggested that the congressman in question does what he wants to do without the consultation of the party and thus hopefully, would keep the party out of any stink surrounding it. I did what any loyal party member would do, which is protect my party as best as possible.

The UKPP has been a stage of transition since Alfa leaving, and it hasn’t been an easy process. We need to appreciate that it takes time to find out what we want to be. I’d also like to take this as an opportunity to thank Pannonian Nomad for his service to the party and for being a good friend over the last few months. It’s sad to see him go, and I am personally looking into the allegations surrounding his departure.

At the end of the day, I don’t want to be involved in mud slinging because too much of it occurred last month. This article puts the situation perfectly.

My election bid
Late, I know. Below are how I see each department over the next term. It is partially a copy pasta of my manifesto last time, with some of the unpopular and impractical things removed. On top of these, the key to the term will be the managing of the end of the resource wars event, which I am clued up about. Active throughout the day and night because I work at home, I can make sure the final stages are managed thoroughly.

Finance
MoF will be key in watching the coffers and making sure that we are spending within our means as well as building up the countries reserves after a long period of war and large spending. Finance will also look at new ways to raise capital for the country and its various new schemes. The department will continue to run the training ground loan scheme.

Defence
The MoD this term will serve to protect the eUK and it’s regions, and make sure that MU’s are alerted regularly of eUK priorities. MU’s that comply will be given significant publicity and praise from the department in gratitude for assisting the eUK. An MoD consultancy service will also be set up to help MU’s (who want it), in attracting members and keeping them active. A weekly most valuable soldier article will also go out to say thank you to those patriots in their divisions.

Foreign Affairs
There will be no big foreign affairs moves, merely maintaining current relations and hopefully make new friends and allies along the way.
The reorganisation of the ambassadorial programme, which will give dozens of younger and less experienced players a chance to start their political careers. It will be organized using regional directors, managing areas of the New World who will help the ambassadors carry out their roles in their countries.

Ministry of Governmental Affairs
This department deals with the transparency deficit in government currently. Reports will be given the MoGA and fortnightly, an article will be released to the public with information on what each department has been doing and spending and where. The department will also deal with congress disputes and votes on non-game law. It could be seen as a replacement for the Ministry of Legal Affairs which was not fully enacted (long story) a few terms ago.

Home Affairs
There will be the return of the daily news update (which I started a few months ago whilst MoHA), selecting and publicising the best of UK media. Home Affairs will also provide guidelines (NOT RULES) on what to look for when approving and denying citizenship. Differing from past attempts to solve the immigration problem, this is a move to advise and guide newer congressmen and women, and not to demand or punish wrongdoers.

Entertainment
The department will bemuse, amuse and confuse over the next month. As a department close to my heart, there will be more funding for MoEnt, so that more competitions and prizes can brighten the day of eUK citizens. Also, an awards ceremony will be organized to celebrate 2014 and the people who have shone in the last year in the eUK (and those who haven’t) held live on IRC.

Education
A stupendous number of articles giving advice to younger citizens in different areas of the game, written by MoEd and commissioning articles from experienced citizens of the eUK. The Minister will be responsible for asking citizens to write articles for the department.

Kind Regards,

Baron Chris
eUK CP Candidate
